I know how you feel my son starts in September but i have decided to put him in full time, he cant stop talking about it where i am or ready missing him even tho i have 6 months, he is also 3 and time has flown by it scares the hell out of me, he will soon be in his teens and answering back.Good luck i hope it goes well and your son has the time of his life, that's the most important thing, and you can enjoy a cup of tea the morning will fly by and it will be time to pick him up.

It's normal. I cried off and on for a week when my 1st baby started school. It feels like the beginning of the end, but you'll get used to it. Be brave! He'll still love and need you for years & years yet!

If you wrap your son up in cotton wool he will never grow up. get a grip he's only going to school and he's looking forwards to it.
It'll give you a well earned break and a chance to get something done.
At his age everything is new and he will lap it up.You are probably just feeling sorry for yourself because the 3 years of having him with you all the time has come to an end.
This is the beggining of his learning to be independant and if he does not do this properly he may lack self confidence in later life.

Yeah- it's tough- real tough and scary- I remember when I brought my youngest to her first day and she didn't want me to leave- until she saw the activity table stacked with Mr. Potato Heads and toys-

3 hours later she was walking on cloud-9- so proud of herself for making it through the first day.

It's a big- and inevitable day- celebrate it and make the most of it- maybe have a little party when he gets home, or a special dinner the night before- etc.

Yes it is normal! Your son is transitioning from babyhood to childhood and it's hard on every mother. Don't let him see you cry and don't make him feel guilty for going. Encourage him and watch him shine, and that will bring a smile back to your face. His success will bring you comfort.
