I started babysitting at 11 or 12, but I was a very mature young girl. Wise. :) lol
I think law in Canada states that you have to be 12 years old to be home alone at any time period. So I would assume, legally you would have to do be at least 12.
Each child is different. I think 12 or 13 will be fine as long as they know the rules, know what to do in case of emergency, knows not to answer the door, etc.

I don't know the laws in Candada, but in my state she is too young to babysit. As for maturity, she shouldn't be watching children under the age of three unless she is first aid and CPR trained. She would have no idea how to handle an infant in distress. As for charging, most babysitters go by rates similar to other babysitters in their areas. 12 is too young for babys, but would be great for 3 to 5 year olds.

Depends on the maturity. I would say 13 to watch older children, say 7+. As a mother I wouldn't trust anyone under that age for my older children. For the younger ones I would prefer a mother or someone older and mature.

I would say 16 yrs old. If she has the maturity to drive she can help babysit your little one.

Heck..I only go 18 or older :)

she is too young to be watching them by herself. she can watch kids while her mother is home. the red cross in the us offers babysitting classes. do you have that available there?
