pithermic this is where the mommies instinct comes in to play. All children are different so you really need to re-lie on what you feel. If he's not climbing out of the crib or attempting then I would leave well enough alone. Remove him when the crib is a danger instead of a help. When you put him in a big bed he will need safety rails to stop him from hitting the ground while asleep. Also you will have your hands full at keeping him there when he doesn't want to. Also keep in mind he can get up a wonder the house in a reg. bed. Time for a motion detector in his doorway to alert you or a gate he can not climb over. You say you think he's to young and what you feel is right, IS RIGHT. Keep Listening to that gut and you will be a fabulous mom.

I waited until my oldest was 3 before she got a regular sized bed. My twins are almost 2 and they are still in cribs. I plan on keeping them in cribs as long as possible. It also depends on the child, if your son is climbing out of his crib then it might be time to start thinking about it but otherwise let him stay in his crib. They also sell things that go over a crib like a dome so that babies can't climb out of cribs. It looks like mosquito netting just tighter but that might be helpful if your son isn't ready for a big bed yet.

I hope you meant 1 year old instead of 1 month! They have these little baby bed (minature twin) and they have a rail so they wont fall out. There is no right age. It all depends on the child and the parent. Sounds like you are both at least ready to start considering it.

You can try butu remember this, your child will get out of bed to try to come out and play when you put him down.

My daughter was a little over 2 when i switched her. Helped I had another baby to do that too. most of the time at 15 months they aren't ready to just stay in bed when you put them there.

If YOU think that he is ready, thats a whole nother story. Then switch him but if not, don't. My son is 15 months also. I have put him in my daughter's bed for naps, (daughter doesn't nap anymore) and he falls out even if the half rails there. If you think he is ready though, go for it. you know your son better than anybody else

Most likely a toddler bed. It would have the rails and more difficult for the little one to fall out. And lower to the ground so they can easily climb off with out getting hurt. I'm guessing you meant to put another number with that 1. I usually wait until my kids are at least 13-15 months. Just so they recognize that it is bed time. That play time is over. And have your son on a schedule. Then they get tired at that time every night. Same with nap time. Put him to bed for nap and night time at the same time.

Use a toddler bed, they are smaller to the ground, so if he rolls to the sides, it is alot lower to the ground so he won't get hurt if he falls off! They are also a lot less expensive then real bed and perfect for transition into a big bed! There really is not a right age, it differs for every child!

I'm thinking he's a little older than 1 month old. My son went into his crib at 1-1/2 weeks old...he is now 2-1/2 yrs old. he is happy in his crib, and has never made teh attempt to escape at all...I have his bed ready when he wants it, but he is quite happy in his crib.

Whenever they start to climb out of their crib, they are old enough for a toddler bed or if they are potty trained and need to be able to go to the washroom in the middle of the night.

He's too young. Put a crib tent on his crib if it looks like he might climb out. This is the kind of kid you NEED to contain, not give MORE freedom to leave his bed whenever he wants and get into trouble!

I agree taht he is too young to go in a bed. You should wait until he is maybe around 5 months. But that should only be for sometimes because its always best for an infant to sleep in a crib.
