Parents who have had toddlers, please let me know what type of toys would be nice for a toddler to play on. We have a large backyard and I would like my 1yr old to have something as it warms up soon and we can get outside.

We found tons of the little tykes plastic stuff, houses, slides etc. We got them at rummage sales for about a tenth of the price and in great shape. Our 1 and 2 year olds love the house the best, and we bring the kitchenette out there too cause we put water in the sink. Get to sales early and bring a truck or big enough vehicle for all your loot.Forgot about the water/sand table. We only put water in that last summer, but they loved to splash.

Everything that I have bought for my children is Little Tikes...the jungle gym, swing set, give the child toys that would keep them active. I have balls, sandbox, something that your child would keep interest in....I wouldn't go out and buy anything extreme until your child learns to climb a slide and sit on a swing....I love the little tikes, it's the right size and fit for any small child! Good luck

A sand box is worth hours of entertainment! Magic Cabin sells a nice wooden one with a shade/cover.

I would not buy plastic Little Tykes crap! With all the news out about the danger of BPA in plastic, I would avoid these toys. Besides, they are really ugly as they fade and get dirty.
