The Dr said to pour baby oil in her ear and leave it there! That sounds weird to me. But she says it's plugged and she's always asking "What?" after I say something. I'm thinking she probably can't hear very well. What's an easy painless way to get the wax out?

I was just wondering what everyone thought because it seems to me if a child is potty trained that means they now use the potty and are completely off of diapers or pullups at anytime. If they wet the bed or have frequent accidents, then they aren't fully trained. What do you think?

Hello... I took my children to the doctor on Friday because they had high fevers and cold like symptoms. They doctor swabbed their noses and said they have the flu. My middle daughter ran a fever of 103 W,Th,F&S. On Sunday she was fever free. I sent her to school on Monday only to have her come home with a fever of 103. She hasn't had a fever yet today but still feels "yuck". My oldest daughter had a fever of 104 Th,F,Sat&Sun. She has been fine since Sunday. My youngest daughter (2 years old) started her fever on Saturday and continued through Monday. Tuesday she seemed fine and now today has had a fever of 104.5. She is miserable and the fever reducer is not taking the fever completely away. Does anyone know when this is going to end? I don't remember any flu that I've had in the past cause fevers this high or for this long of a period. If my youngest still has a fever in the morning I'm calling her doctor. Has anyone else had this flu? When will it end? Thanks!!!

Why would my 3 year old all of a sudden begin peeing in her pants at least once a day. She's been potty trained for a long time but all of a sudden has been wetting her pants daily. No signs of a medical issue. What could be causing this behavior and how to deal with it? Thanks

I have a son that is 17 months old. The doc says at this age he is suppose to be saying atleast five words. He doesn't say any. He says "da da da" when I encourage him to talk. The doc is setting him up for an appointment to have his hearing checked. I think he can hear fine b/c he comes when I call him and he dances to music. He even mimics sounds, but not really words.
So my question is, should I be worried?
And is there any other mommies out there with a child who didn't speak right away?
thank you

Although we keep all harmful things put up we are still worried because she could fall and hurt herself or just anything and we wouldn't know. We have put bells on her door and have a monitor in her room...this still does not help, we don't want to lock the door in fear of fire or if she needs to go potty. Please help if you have something that could help with this.

My daughter tries to play with her potty chair. Am I rushing it? Everyone I know says no. I take her in the bathroom with me and sometimes she likes just sitting on it but most the time she just wants to take the cup part out. When she sits on it she claps her hands stands up and pees all over the floor. I am just afraid I'm rushing her. Any tips? Advice?

We have 4 kids: 10, 7, 4 and 3. The 10 and 7 year olds have specific chores like keeping their rooms clean, dusting, vacuuming, etc... How can I let the 3 and 4 year olds join in? They love to help. I sometimes let them move clothes from washer to dryer or carry towels up to the bathroom. Any other ideas?

My daughter will be 2 in February and no matter what I do, I cannot sleep unless she is with me and my husband in our bed. I try putting her in her own room but she screams bloody murder when I do. She acts like someone is killing her. I actually had the neighbor come over and ask if she was okay one night because she was so upset!!! She refuses to sleep anywhere but with me at night. I have tried letting her cry but like I said, the neighbors think I am killing her! What can I do to make her want to sleep by herself. I've tried giving her a nightlight. She sleeps with her teddy bear and baby doll. I put up a baby gate in her doorway so her door isnt shut at night.
I only have a full size bed so it is hard to have me, her, my husband, her teddy bear, and her baby doll all in one little bed. And she always wants to sleep long ways and kicks me and hits me in the head all night so I never get a good nights sleep. And she talks in her sleep. LOL.

My son is 14 months old and climbing all over the place. I've been thinking about going and getting a toddler bed instead of his crib lately. Is it too soon....what age did you put your child in a real bed.

My 18 month old son is in daycare 2-3 days a week from 9am to 4pm, so I pay between $50-$75 per week for child care. I just want to make sure I give the right amount of a bonus. Last year I gave her $100 and EVERYONE told me that was too much? But if I lower the bonus this year will it look bad? I really like her and she is great with my son! Should I just give what I did last year? It really makes no differance to me I was just wondering what the average bonus is?

I have two 3mnth old doxin/terrrier mixes. The last 3 days they have been vomitting and have had diaharrea. They can't keep anything in them and if they do it sort of squirts out of them. It's gotten to the point that when they get up it just starts coming out and up. I know it's gross, but I'm asking b/c there are no vets that I trust in my town any more. Does anyone know of any home remedies that I could us on them?

He recoginzes shapes and pictures and can identify them (where is the dog, point to the green ball), but he communicates mostly in grunts (points to what he wants and grunts). My wife and I are around all day, so I am concerned we might be acting as a crutch.

Should we be worried?

My 4 year old nephew found my old keyboard and is truly addicted he can't stop playing with it. I asked my brother to consider getting him piano lessons, but he says he is too young. I don't think he is too young I think he can really develop a talent.
