My guess was that the T means tall, but I have no idea, and I have no guesses as to what the X means. I was just curious, it's something I've always wondered.

My daughter is 2 years old and her birthday is in November. When can she start preschool? I've heard that children with late birthdays have to start the following year. Is this true?

My son really likes toothpaste sandwiches.I am sure they are bad for him so only allow him to eat one or two at breakfast .The problem is that he now refuses to eat his usual burgers and pizzas, only to steal the toothpaste from the bathroom at night to make more sandwiches. Will this harm him.He is three years old.

Prior to that he was not sick for 5 whole months and it was GREAT! but before that he was sick all the time. How often are your kids sick?

Does this annoy anyone else? My sister in law is a good example. Her daughter is a month younger than my oldest and still isn't potty trained. My oldest has been potty trained since she was 2 and she'll be 3 in April. This same sister in law actually tries to tell me how I can get my daughter to stop having occassional accidents. WTH? Do any of the rest of you want to just tell people to parent their own kids sometimes? It's like those parents whose kids are running all over the store acting like brats that glare at you if you tell your child that they can't have a toy. It drives me insane!!!

Also, if they have damp hair when they go to bed, would this cause a runny nose or a cold? My child hates wearing his shoes and socks around the house and sometimes we put him to bed with slightly damp hair......my mother says that's why he keeps a runny nose. I think it's just allergies.

She is 4 and a half and we have just started experiencing issues of not doing what she is told, answering back, laughing at us when we tell her to do something, parrot repeating what you say. We've tried naughty step but feel she is a bit old for that plus she just gets up and runs away and short of physically restraining her theres not much else we can do. We have also tried time out in her room but she seems to enjoy that and just play with her toys. Issue is compounded by the fact her 2 yr old brother copies her. We try various things none of which are consistent and we are really looking for a method that both myself and my husband can use that will avoid us resorting to shouting at her as a result of our frustrations. Arghhh shes just thrown her lunch in the bin as I type.............
Serious answers only please. Merry Christmas.

i am having some problems problems with my step daughter- she is 7. She will lie about the simplist of things... i have told her that lying wont get her anywhere except into more trouble..we have tried everything including

Stopping her from going to her grandmas - she used to go every weekend
clearing her room of all her toys - and keeping them away from her for weeks.
Stopping her from watching the telly
No allowing her to have any sweets
warning her that if hse carries on being naughty then santa wont come to her,
we have spanked her butt too
grounded her

None of these work, she isnt bothered about anything. She has told people i punch her, i have been to the doctors and they said she just wants her independance, but the thing is she wont do anything for herself unless we tell her to. I have to tell her in a morning when i get her up for school to go and have a wash, then i have to tell her to get dressed. We have had the same routine every day for the past 3 years, get up get washed, get dressed then have breakfast then we leave for school. Though she still hasnt got into the habit of doing it, she messes around every morning, she stands in the bathroom for about 15 minutes just with her hands in the water, messing around... if anyone knows of anything else i can do please tell me

Also we dont expect her to be perfect, no kid is, but her behaviour is getting really bad and it doesnt matter what we try nothing works..

My daughter is only 7 and has a problem lying. It's always about stupid things too that she probably wouldn't of got in trouble for anyway.I've tried grounding her from tv,toys, everything.I've tried spanking her, putting her in the corner for as much as 2 hours.None of these things phase her because she is so stubborn. She is usually one of the best behaved kids I know, not saying that only because she's my daughter but she's kind, helps out a lot, other than lying, doesn't really do anything bad.Any suggestions?

my sister's baby is so intellegent it scares me. he is almost 2 yrs old. he is trying to talk big words already and i have a good gift for getting exactly what he is saying. my sister works an awful lot and due to nasty day care issues preffers to sit him with me. but his behavior-- he is defiant and he- when he doesn't get his way -screams-fake cries- and throws things and slaps and kicks people.NOW MIND YOU I AM 31 , MEXICAN AND NOT A MOTHER BUT LEARNING AND TRYING TO BE ONE - SO I NEED ADVICE.- is this normal for him to be nice one minute/ happy and the other minute a mean spiteful child the next? his father- my sister said had a vicious abusive streak with his temper and fled the state due to criminal problems so he is not around but my sister sees some of the same abusive characteristics in the baby as she saw in his father. is this genetic? is giving him time outs ok? how do i deal?

He is a very healthy, normal boy. Whenever my mother asks him why he's doing that, he won't answer her. When he blinks them like that, he shuts his eyes hard and then opens them right away. Then a couple seconds later, he does it again... For 3 days!! My mom said that she's going to take him to the doctor tomorrow, but she wanted me to ask everyone on here...
Does anyone know why he might be doing this?
