If your child doesn't want to eat it, then don't make him. Would you want to eat something that bothers you?

What on earth are you doing feeding these sorts of foods to a baby this young? He should only be eating cereal and gentle baby foods at this time in his life. Do you realize you could do permanent esophageal damage that will effect him for the rest of his life?
Also, just b/c a person (or baby) is of a specific descent doesn't mean they have to like a certain food. I think that's kind of stereotypical profiling on your part and in some parts of the country is illegal and recognized as a hate crime!!
Why not ask your pediatrician about feeding him those things? I'm sure he'll give you an earfull too.

It is not natural to have a baby eating hot food right away just because he is Mexican. Why don't you try to build his hotness in his mouth. Try it mild for a few weeks, then build it up to medium until he get use to it and then move up to hot but do it in very very small amounts. Hopefully this may help.

Are you mexican? I am not mexican and do not tolerate hot food at all. Neither is my husband. We live in SW Louisiana and our culture is Cajun which is spicy food. My husband loves spicy food and I do not except in Crawfish. My baby, since he started eating solids would get tastes of it. Now he loves spicy crawfish and shrimp. Just offer it too him and eventually he might start to like it. I don't think that just because he has mexican heritage that it means he will definitely like something! Everyone is different.

Perhaps he isn't ready just yet? My kids always would suck the hot sauce off of chips when they were little and they are not Mexican. Give him some time. Just because he is Mexican doesn't mean that it doesn't burn his little mouth, throat, and belly.

Being mexican does NOT mean he should naturally be able to eat these things! His little tummy is probably not ready for such things! He's an infant, not an adult!

if your child don't want to eat hot and spicy food dont force him, and to me 8 months old shouldn't be eating that. let him eat what he likes, and don't force the others, when hes older and wants to eat that he will.
