My boyfriend's son is 3 months short of being 3 and he still isn't talking. Once and awhile he will use a single word but he is not forming sentences like he should be for his age and the words that he does use are not even remotely related to what he is really trying to say. He is constantly in a fit of rage and crying even though he is not in any pain. While having these tempertantrums he will grind his head into the carpet while pushing with his feet leaving burns on his forhead if you dont stop him. he will also bash his head off of the floor leaving giant eggs on his head. He does this all the time. All it takes is for someone to walk through the door. He doesnt reallt play with his toys as much as he throws them or breaks them. Playing with his trucks consists of him lining them up all facing the same way. I am really concerned that something may be wrong and I would like to know early on so that we can do more to prepare him for school when that time comes.

My youngest will be 2 in April and she already wants her ears pierced. I had her sister's done when she was 18 months after she kept trying to "wear," my earings. Now my baby is doing the same thing. I want to get them done because she seems to want them just like her sister did. I don't know if I should wait a little while longer or go ahead and get them done.

My son is turning 3 next week and his talking isn't great. Especially compared to other kids his age. I would say that he knows about 50 words and he only uses them if we tell him to. He doesn't say things like mom give me juice. So is there anything that I can do to help him along?

My 2 year old is used to a cot at the moment but even with the matress at the lowest level setting he's now able to attempt to climb over the sides of the cot thus endangering himself.
I am thinking of taking the sides off of the cot but am unsure of how to train a little boy who's not yet talking and certainly not able to understand reasoning.
Of course, there's some security measures I need to do first like ensuring the drawers on his chest of drawers are locked, the wardrobe doors are locked and the gate is up outside his door!

Help! I'm thinking this is going to be a nightmare and I feel totally unprepared for yet more sleepless nights with a 2 year old given the freedom of his room!!

My son is turning 1 and I made the mistake of inviting too many friends with their kids, now I don't know how to occupy them for 1.5 hrs. The kids range from 1-8 and there will be around 9 or 10 of them. Its also at a clubhouse since I didn't have enough room at home. All I can think of is forking over money to a clown or something but I would rather not...Any ideas? Big OOPS on my part!

I'm worried that it could get into his brain or something. Does anyone know anything about the anatomy of the nose? Should I be worried? Or will it just fall out eventually?

I am a single mom with a 2 yr old and when she was first born I went through all the "first time mom syndrome" things and my daughter has slept with me from day one. Now I think she needs to sleep in her own bed. But it seems impossible. Any suggestions on how to make this hard transition a little easier?

Our almost three year old does not poop for 3-5 days and then poops (large ones) 3 times in 1-2 days. Is this normal? We give her milk of magnesium 2-3 times a week. We try as much as we can with the diet, fiber etc. Should we see a gastro specialist?

for your kids?
My son recently turned 3. we had a dan zanes and freinds themed party where everyone was asked to wear some fun and loud clothes or funny hats. We made a paper mache curtains that led to the area where we provided pizza, cake and ice cream.
We also had a lcd projector ( loaned ) to show the dan zanes and friends fun dances on our living room wall so the kids could dance and stuff.

I overheard one of the parents from my sons class say omg I couldnt even imagine doing all this for my son.
I didnt even spend alot of money, we made most of the stuff ourselves.
So what do you do for your kids parties, im curious if we are the only ones who put a little effort and imagination into our childrens parties

I have tried overalls and put them on backwards. That seemed to work until her sister learned how to undo the buttons and now she helps her to take off her clothes. Help!!!

2006-12-19 15:40:54 · 14 answers · asked by Yasmeen 2

Is this normal for her age? I don't think she takes me seriously when I say no. I keep up the repetition : telling her no firmly and taking her away from whatever she was doing; repeat, repeat, repeat! Any suggestions or personal experiences you can share? Any tips? She seems to think it is funny and wants to keep doing whatever it is I'm telling her not to do. I'm consistent, but it doesn't seem to be getting through to her! Could she just be stubborn(she is a fairly strong-willed little girl, but well behaved and playful the majority of the time)? Thanks for your input!

My son was standing in the middle of the room by himself as I watched from the doorway. The caretaker was outside setting up an alarm with a infant in her arms without a coat. I heard her yelling at my son to come outside with her. (He has no coat on.) She was gone long enough for me to walk this, get his coat on, pack up his diaper bag, and go down a flight of stairs before she figured out he was even gone. Previously, I found him alone with an infant playing with the water in the bathroom. This place was highly recommended by a pharmacist at the hospital I would at. I phone the supervisor but all she said she would do is look into it and get back with me. I am afraid that the worker may figure out who is complaining about her and "get back" at me by doing something to my son. My mother says I'm crazy and should have kept my mouth shut.

My 2 year old was going on the potty perfectly for 2 months - then she just started peeing in her pants again. I don't punish her for it i just keep trying to get her to go in the potty again, adding an M&M for each success, but they are few and far between now and I am feeling really discouraged - what to do?
