There's a question we all have to ask ourselves. Mine little on is 18 months and it's hard to buy for him. Kids really love books and building toys. Just get him something that will stimulate his imagination, and something you can sit down on the floor and play with him. Next year will be so much fun when you have to sit down and decide what to get your two year old. They really seem to come into their own by that age. LOL.

A large appliance box. And I'm being serious! They can use there imagination. My daughter loves it! :) Not that I bought it for her for x-mas or anything.

On a more helpful note...is your child into cabinets and things? I don't know if you lock up your cabinets or not, but we do. However, we have on she is allowed to get into. We have all plastics in there (such as tupperware...not bags for all the people who will misinterpret that). Well, I bought my daughter a pot and pan set (it's for kids) that plays music, etc. When I'm in the kitchen, I let her play with it and she LOVES it because she gets to get her dishes out and cook with Mommy. It'll work well for boys too...even if Dad doesn't like it...tell him that women think it's attractive for men to cook (wink, wink). Well, another thing is this fridge farm. It's a magnet and the animal pieces are magnets too. You can match the pieces together and they make animal noises. It teaches colors, matching, animals, animal noises, and it plays music. Those are both really inexpensive. The reason for me getting those two things are because she is ALWAYS into stuff. So instead of telling her no, I gave her something she could play with. She LOVES being able to touch the stuff on the fridge and know it's hers.

One thing to say though before this happens. If you allow your child to play in cabinets, be sure they understand to watch their fingers. My daughter caught her fingers twice (in a 6 month period) and she's VERY cautious. She knows her body parts so when she shuts cabinets, doors, drawers, I say "Watch your fingers" and she will make sure her fingers aren't in the way. I know it sounds bad, but if it happens, they will learn. Just make sure they can't get SERIOUSLY hurt. A little pinch won't kill them. But it did teach her a valuable lesson. I'll attach the links to the toys so maybe you can find them. I know Wal-Mart, Target, and KMart carry them mostly...and that's helpful since MOST places in the US have those stores (I don't know where you're from though).

Good luck and Merry christmas!!!!

if he's not already walking he will be soon. you may get him one of those busy box things on wheels that he can hold on to as he's walking. blankets and stuffed animals are always nice. anything with lights and sounds is ok. watch the volume on some of these toys though. if it's too noisy when you put your ear to it, it can damage baby's hearing. baby einstein videos are GREAT. i dont' know what it is about 'em, but they captivated my boys until they were like 3.
