I do not think so personally. If you are wanting to send your child to daycare then do it. This helps your child socially. I myself never sent my child to daycare because he was disabled and I was overprotective and when it got time for school I wished that I had. I think the transition to school would have been much easier. I think the decision is a personal one.

I don't believe it is. As it's been noted, it helps children make the transistion into pre-school and up, it builds social skills, and gives them an oppritunity to try out things they might not get to do at home. My son has been going since he was 18 months, and he gets to the playground for over an hour and half, meet new friends, play with different toys, learn new songs, go on field trips, and finally after a summer of refusing to be potty trained, within the first week he was back to school seeing the other big boys ( he's 3 now) convinced him it was the right idea.
Check the place out, look for good reviews, talk with other parents using the daycare, in short be picky. The amount of time spent in daycare is important to consider too, my son has never gone more than two days out of the week.
Okay sorry for rambling...hope this helps.

Some kids are in daycare at 3 months. As long as it's a credible place, it's fine. At 1 1/2 years, he should love the socialization. I work in a daycare and bring my son who's the same age, and he has a ball!

Not too young at all. Just FYI though, some charge more money for younger children. Around where we live, children under 12 months old require a second mortgage on your house and alot of pan handling to raise enough money for daycare.

I personally avoided daycare until my kids were older. I wanted to be sure that they could verbalize their feelings. Yes, some kids are but in day care at six weeks old. But if avoidable, I wouldnt advise it. lol...My daughter is four and I still avoid daycare field trips, there is so much that can happen!

In my opinion yes. Your child cant tell you what goes on too well then and thats very important that they are able to do that when they are spending that amount of time with strangers. Day care is good for getting your child use to the idea of playing with and having to share with other kids but I do think that age is alittle too young. My son will be 3 soon and Im still not putting him in daycare. Maybe Im overly protective but does such a thing exist when you are talking about your CHILD? Plus all of them sicknesses, germs, lice going around....oh no. See school is mandatory (and I can deal with that then) but daycare, is not :)

sure why not where he is more acceptable to sickness and asthma and yes that has been proven!
I hear people say oh they need the socialization, if youre child has had no contact with other kids by now, what the heck. Dont do daycare if you can stay home

Thats all up to you. Personally I would never do it b/c I want that time with my child but some mothers have to work and have no other choice. Also at day care children are around more germs and are more sick often. But they accept children at most places at 6 weeks of age.

No, It gives them a chance to learn more by starting young and they learn have to be sociable instead of being shy around people. And children seem to learn more when they are around kids there age.
