Your brain is not attached to your nose. It is however, attached to your ears and throat. Whatever you do, do NOT try to reach up there with fingers or tweezers to reach it. That will push it further in. Instead, try to induce sneezing. You can take him outside if it is sunny and have him look towards the sun - not at it, but looking towards the sun naturally produces sneezing. If that isn't an option or doesn't work then have him sniff a little black pepper. If that doesn't work either, then he will probably need to be seen by a doctor who may have to use a special set of long tweezers to remove it. There is a danger of it becoming lodged in the ears/nose/throat and causing a blockage. My youngest daughter was constantly putting things up her nose, most often green peas and popcorn kernels. The first time she did it, I called the nurse at the doctor's office and she suggested the going out into the sun thing and it worked fine. It didn't always work though since we live in Michigan and don't always have a lot of sun in the winter. That's when we tried the sniffing pepper and that worked well, too. A bead in your son's nose has a potential for a problem, but you don't need to panic, just try to get him to sneeze it out naturally, but if he doesn't call the doctor.

The emergency room actually has a tool that's designed to take beads, beans, spiderman's hand (that's what they pulled from my son) out of noses.
My son had chewed the hand off a toy and popped it up his nose. It was about the size of a bead and he kept breathing hard from his nose. When he finally admitted what happened, we took him to the emergency room and they pulled out this cool looking instrument and had it out in no time. It had been there for a few days before we found out about it and didn't seem to be moving from his nasal cavity. You couldn't see it when you looked up there.

If a foreign object becomes lodged in your nose:
Don't probe at the object with a cotton swab or other tool.
Don't try to inhale the object by forcefully breathing in. Instead, breathe through your mouth until the object is removed.
Blow your nose gently to try to free the object, but don't blow hard or repeatedly. If only one nostril is affected, close the opposite nostril by applying gentle pressure and then blow out gently through the affected nostril.
If the object is visible and you can easily grasp it with tweezers, gently remove it. Don't try to remove an object that isn't visible or easily grasped.
Call for emergency medical assistance or go to your local emergency room if these methods fail.

Have you tried laying him on his back and looking up his nose with a flashlight? You should take him to the doctor to be on the safe side cause if you can't see it and you don't know how far up it is then taking him to the doctor would be the best thing.

I'd take him to the doctors to get it out...When i was about 2 i stuck these tiny beads up my nose and my mom had no clue that i had done it so all weekend i was sniffling so my mom finally took me to the doctors thinking that i was sick.... the doctor found them and had to use a needle and tweezers to get them out...everything in our bodies connects so u don;t wanna mess around with the brain cause that's where the nose eventually leads.
Good luck

Call the dr. The nasal passage does run up towards the brain. I don't think you really have to worry about that unless he shoves his finger up his nose and pushes it up further (which with a four year old is always a possibility.) I think you will probably have to take him into the dr. and they will have to pull it out. Call your pediatrician immediately. Good luck

Been there done this, but my son did it with a pebble. If he can't get it out by blowing his nose very hard, you really should bring him to the doc, they'll get it out easily..
Good luck!

If it's so far up there that you can't see it - it's probably settled into his sinuses somewhere. And no, it's not a good thing to ignore it and wait to see if it comes out on it's own - take him to doc's to get it out now.

I would take him to the doctor. As your nose is actually attached to your throat, I would be concerned it could become dislodged and choke him, or even come loose and block his airway.
