My son is two and loves to color and paint. What are some other art or crafts that would be easy for him to do and enjoy. Also what are just activities in general that would entertain a two year old?

During the day my mum looks after my little boy Joe (3) when i'm at work. He is fully potty trained & always asks to go when at home and at friends houses. The problem is when I walk him home from my mothers (She lives a 30min. walk from us through woodland) - He always 'Needs a Wee'
I ask him to 'try' before we leave (which he does), but he usually needs to go during the walk - Resultig in wet pants!
Please, please, please help with any advice you can give
Karen (and Joe) xxx.

After 4 and a half years my Daughter has never had anyone drive her around but me or my Husband. People want to take her places I'm just to worried something will happen and I won't be there. She has slept over at her grandma's house twice within the last 5 months every time she is gone I freak out. When I think about her going to school I cry (I have not left her side in 4 1/2 years). I have no idea what im going to do when she get friends and wants to sleep over at there house all the time. Will I get over this or does it get worse?

My 21 month old son cries at the drop of a hat. He cries all the time it seems like. He drives me nuts and nothing that I seem to do makes him stop. He's not spoiled and we do punish him if he does something wrong so I don't know what his problem is. If we tell him no he cries, if he's uncomfortable jhe cries, if we make him do something he doesn't want to he cries, he cries all the time it feels like. He wakes up and he cries. I don't think theres anything physically wrong with him so what in the world is going on and how do I fix it? I am at my wits end!

Me and my husband are expecting another baby in a few months and I would like to have my daughter sleeping in her own room by the time my new baby arrives. I know it's my fault that I can't get her out of my bed but she was my first child. Believe me I learned my lesson. Never again. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

My 20 month old recently started climbling out of his crib, so I took the rail off. I was putting the baby gate in front of his door to keep him in his room at night (we have stairs), but he began climbing over that as well. My only option was to lock him in his room (his room is baby-proof).

Every night when I put him to bed, we have a routine. He stays in bed as long as I am in the room, but once I leave, he gets out and cries (briefly) at the door. Then he falls asleep in front of the door and that's where he sleeps ALL NIGHT--no blanket, no pillow.

Moving him into his bed once he is asleep is not an option because I would awaken him by trying to open the door, and I would do nothing but disturb his sleep, as I'm sure he'd lay back down in front of the door.

Any thoughts on how to keep him tucked in his bed for sleeping? I feel terribly guilty allowing him to sleep on the cold, scratchy floor
:(

Whenever I impose a rule upon children, I find myself unable to sound stern or angry. I'm struggling to be stern because they look too darn cute! How can I get angry at something that cute?! Does this mean that the children will not learn that what they are doing is bad? Is this a problem?

I have a 2 year old daughter and one on the way and My wife and I have decided I will stay at home and she will work. She's is a nurse and I am a welder but she makes more $.I have only been staying at home for less than a week and I have discovered that once you get one mess cleaned up theres 3 more waiting.Still I'd rather try this than be all worried about "When I get done with this product I have 6 more to weld".I am not a fast paced person and supervisors tend to get upset with me alot.I think we'll try this.

she's jealous of this and that, someone's being mean to her, she wants choc. milk instead of reg. milk etc... She cries over everything. I don't understand why she can't just ask for something instead of just starting to cry. I've tried to talk to her but she can't control it, it seems. Any ideas? Help!

my three year old has trouble staying asleep at night. She wakes several times asking for water, a song, a kiss etc. In the morning she comes into our bedroom and crawls into bed and asks if she can "sleep on daddy's pillow" so I let her. Any idea what this waking could be about or what to do to stop it?

My son needs me with him to fall asleep. If he wakes up in the middle of the night he will yell for me and I have to either fall back to sleep with him or wait for him to go to sleep before going back to my bed. Is this common for a 4 year old and what can I do to break him of this habit. I understand he is afraid of the dark ... but can I get him to sleep on his own?

My 20 month old has SERIOUS meltdowns whenever something happens that he didn't plan on happening.

For example- He brought me the cookie jar, I opened it for him, And he got a cookie out, But dropped it on the floor, And he literally threw himself backwards, screamed, and tensed his whole little body up like he'd done something HORRIBLE.

He does this ANY time he makes a 'mistake'...Like if he drops his sippy, Or trips over something and falls down, He just has a total meltdown, Is this normal???

I have an 8 year old, But he never did this.

For the last two nights, when I go to either check on or wake up my 20 month old daughter, her sleep pants and diaper are off (dry as can be) and she is soaked in urine along with her sheets, lovely..all of it.

Any suggestions on how to prevent this?

*As soon as the weather turns cold again, she'll be in button or zipper pjs and it won't be a problem. But...until then????

sharing well. I recently took in my niece and nephew. They are 2 and 4. She is having a really hard time sharing anything. She also has a 2 year old sister that comes over every weekend that she shares fine with. How can I help her to learn to share, and get along with the other kids. They will be with us for 6 months or maybe longer?
Please help, I need some good ideas.

Hi All,

My son has a new daycare teacher (its a home daycare) that speaks mainly spanish. She has been teaching my son spanish words. I know that this will be good for him in the long run, but I would rather him wait another year or 2 before he is taught spanish. We speak english only in our house. I just feel like because he is still learning to speak english, the spanish learning should wait. Am I being paranoid? I just don't want him coming home and pointing at something, and saying what it is in spanish, but not knowing what it is in English. Is it too early for him?
