Make home-made playdough. He'll love working in the kitchen and then actually being able to use what he made.
Also, you can get wooden objects from craft stores (like wooden cars, wooden letters, birdhouses, etc.) and they're like $2 or $3 a piece. Let him pick something out and then let him paint it. I would suggest a birdhouse. Then, after he's worked his magic you can hang it outside and he can watch birds enjoy the house he painted for them :-)

At 2 years of age a lot of art is exploration. Give her some fun brushes and rollers (Melissa and Doug or Alex company has some), big brushes, crayons, and markers. Or do fingerpainting. You can have her paint and have her decorate it with glitter or colored sand. You can start doing beads with her, it's great for fine motor and I'm sure she'd love to make you jewelry ( : Just use the bigger kid-friendly beads since she's got little fingers At this age she can start cutting too, that's also great for fine motor just supervise her closely and use kid-friendly scissors. Then you can cut paper and glue on big pieces of paper to make collages (once again it's all about the exploration) I think at stores like Michaels you can still buy wooden chests and even little chairs. You can have her paint and decorate them (keep in mind her idea of decorating the chair will be different from yours lol) You can make playdough with her. There are lots of good recipes online. Then you can have her choose which color(s) to put in it. You can do shaving cream, great sensory experience! You can mix colors with paint. Through this she can be exposed to mixing colors, and you can also introduce the letters in her name (nothing too formal, just having fun of course) Then as she gets older you can get more into formal crafts. The important thing is to have fun!!

My twin sons are 2 1/2 years old....they love mommy being a monster and chasing them, tickle fights, any kind of dancing around the house. Today i even had one of them helping put away laundry...he thought he was such a big boy. The other had no interest...i think he knew it was cleaning! haha My kids love their vtech baby learning system too...i sit with them and we "learn" sometimes they just enjoy pushing all the buttons on it, but they like it.....Hope some of this helps ya! Good luck!

That is good.Hand prints are fun. You could trace his two hands(for antlers) and outline one of his feet (to make the rest of the face) then you could have him help apply the glue and you could glue on or draw on the eyes and nose.Boxes are also great for kids at this age. You could decorate a box together and call it a house or a car. good luck.

I cut all different shapes out of construction paper and let my daughter glue them on paper we also use cotton balls, ribbon macaroni, and what ever else we can find. She has a blast. I let her use a glue stick for most of it but, i have to use elmer's for the bigger stuff.
