No, in the state of GA it is legal for a 17 yr old to leave home unfortunately. I am so sorry for you. You can call your local police station to confirm this. However, you can put out a missing persons report if you think she is in trouble and would like for them to help find them for you.

You need to report her as a runaway 1st then you need to ask the police if you have the right to make her come home. When I was 17 I was a porblem child. The cops in Texs told my mother that She could not make me stay at home since I was 17 and in there records classified as a trouble child. I had run way 2 other times before then. Actually just neede a little time to my self. When she comes back talk ta her she might say nothing is rong , but tell her your there to listedn to her and not judge. If my parents would have done that I don't think I would have runaway so much. GOod Luck to you and you child. (P.S. If your child is a girl are you shure she is not pregnant and that is why she ran away cause she dosen't know how to tell you all)

Yes you can if you are her legal gaurdian. A local call to your police department is all it takes. Dosent matter if the child turns 18 in a month ... the cops might get irritated but you can legally make them come home. Good Luck. It also will depend on the circumstances that they ran from if the child gives a good excuse they will not make them come home right away but go somewhere they believe to be safe

hi im 15 and i have ran away from home not long ago i live in WA and my freinds are doing it to.. when i ran my parents tried everything to have me back calling police and all but in the end the decision was up to me i was told i was old enough to make my own decision..! so if your daughter is responsible enough i think you should just talk to her talking to my parents helped alot and in the end you will always have a freindship at the end of it...so dont fight it it doesnt help it makes us proud of what we have done...
