How about taking your child to the doctor -- there should be a reason and a child's health should not be taken lightly.

From having six kids who get the barfs ALOT and then give it to each other so I have 6 barfing kids in the house, I should know EXCACTLY what to do!

First of all, almost every answerer writes to take him/her to the doctor, or take him/her to the emergency room. DON'T! All they can do is tell you that she has a stomach bug and send you home with the hopes that you don't get puke all over your car! Believe me, thats what they told me. I couldn't put five vomiting kids in my expedition and drive to the doctor.

WHen your little one feels like a peice of crap from barfing their guts out all day you don't want to have to take them to the doctor. They won't want to eat, but you want to keep them hydrated.
Don't give them water, it makes the stomach think their is food in the it so It makes more acids. Medicine will not go the whole nine yards, so here is a good diet for the mean time.

For at least one hour after vomiting, nothing, nada, zip.

If vomiting resides, give them a small sip of clear liqids, preferably sprite or ginger ale.

Continue doing this increasing the amount of liquids every ten minutes or so.

If no throwing up for at least two hours, you can start the B.R.A.T diet.

Give in small bites either Bread, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast plain.

And if they throw up again, start from the beginning. If not, just continnue with these steps, keeping plenty of liquids in her.

As far as the medicines goes, most doctors dicourage it. I know I do because it just induces my angels to puke it and their last meal right up.

Ughhh, poor little thing! I know it is so hard on them to go through this, and for you you too.

Good luck, I hope they feel much better soon. After all the best medicine of all is a parents love!

I hope that this yucky bug is over soon! I just had to go through this with my four year old twins, they are better since yesterday.

Soory to hear about this! GOD BLESS YOU!

Cola syrup. It comes in a 4 oz. bottle and you can find it in most grocery stores. This is a great way to settle a child's stomach.

Also, if your child cant hold any thing down, stop feeding him solids, go straight for the pedialite, then after one or two days, start him on a BRAT diet-
Bananas
Rice
Applesauce
Toast
This will ease the "weak" stomach into handling more solid foods.

It should not take more than 2or 3 days for a normal turnaround from sick to healthy child. If not, go to the doctor.

Your pediatrician can test your child for food allergies. He could be allergic to milk, peanuts - peanut butter, wheat and such. Many times they cause the symptoms you describe.

Medicine will not help, and will make the condition worse. Most of the medicine is made for adults, not children of four.

Please call the pediatrician and tell your doc the symptoms. He also could have eaten something that is still lodged in his digestive system.

GOD bless.

I hope you've taken him to the doctors? Has it thrown up at least 3 times in the last 2 hours? If so, he needs to see a doctor. As for stopping him from throwing up, I don't know. He needs to be kept hydrated though. Give me some pedialite.

Your child may have a stomach bug, or food poisoning - call the doctor! Is it possible the child ate something they shouldn't have? Look around, if you find evidence that something's been ingested then call poison control. Try to keep the child hydrated, Popsicles may work.

The doctor should prescribe you something, if he throws up the medicine then ask for suppositories.

You don't need medicine. You need a cook.

You should be asking your child's pediatrician this question, not us.
