I gave it to my daughter when she was 3, but watered down. I don't drink soda often so she doesn't either.

i'm no longer too useful. i do no longer drink fairly some soda anymore yet I used to in consumer-friendly, center college and intense college. I nonetheless do drink soda now and back. The caffeine facilitates with my migraines and now and back a splash right here and there is basically fantastic. i'm going to have it interior the residing house once I even have childrens and whilst they get between the a protracted time 10-thirteen i'm no longer likely to tell them what they might and can't drink. My mom had a rule which you had to drink a tumbler of milk or juice with nutrients after which you will have soda so i think of i'm going to apply that rule besides. As for whilst they first have it, i might say whilst the time comes the time comes yet i do no longer think of i might permit a a million or 2 year previous have soda.

I let mine have his first sip of real soda (root beer float) when he was 3. And he had a cup of that 'The Switch' soda that is carbonated juice. And on holidays at his Nana's, he will get a cup of sparkling cider.
So far he likes it but he only gets it on special occasions. We never actually buy any soda when we go grocery shopping or are eating out. Because I don't drink it and they are not that healthy.

My daughter is almost three and I won't give her soda still for a while. Its loaded with sugar, stains your teeth, and actually can dehydrate you if you don't drink enough water.
When I do start letting her drink soda, I'll be buying 7up or Sprite first since they're better for you than the rest.

Why let them at all? Soda is terrible for their teeth and bad for the bodies. There is no nutritional value at all. High fructose corn syrup is very harmful to the body. It actually lowers the immune system. Also, some sodas have a combination of sodium benzoate and ascorbic acid. Ascorbic acid is simply vitamin c, but when mixed with sodium benzoate it forms benzene--a carcinogen linked with leukemia. That seems like a terrible thing to give to a child who is still developing and growing. It seems to me that there are many reasons to never give soda to a child. I don't think adults should be drinking, much less a growing, developing child.

my daughter started getting soda when she could drink out of a straw. i think there are plenty of other things to worry about, soda is not gonna hurt them. and to one answerer, my dentist told me that clear syrup soda's...such as 7up, and sprite are a lot worse for your teeth than dark syrup soda's. so there on that one. also, juice is just as bad with all the sugar it has too. if soda isn't in your house than its not a problem, but if it is, then as long as your kid isn't drinking 5 glasses a day, its not a big deal that they have a drink of yours sometimes.

My son is 2 and the only time he ever has soda is if he steals a drink of mine before I can get to him. I plan to keep him away from it as long as possible.

I haven't and I won't. I try very hard to only give my kids food and drinks with some nutritional value in it. Why bother with Soda?
