the new ones have stoppers around the wheels and they say not to use them because lots of babies have fallen down steps and they are very dangerous cause they can get to things they are not suppose to faster and can reach things better that they are not suppose to touch, but if they were that bad they would have stopped making them and stop putting them on the shelves i had one for my son now 21 months old, and he loved it it played some weird noise and lit up and had mirror but i wouldnt use the ones they had in the 80's

There's another reason not to use walkers, swings, or bouncers. There is a possible link between ADD and the overuse of such toys. Too often babies don't get floor time these days and they've discovered floor time is necessary to help the baby learn coordination and for proper brain development.

IF you get such toys, don't use them often. DO spread a blanket on the floor and let the baby explore, move, and reach for toys. It will help your baby's development.

It gives them access to things that could be dangerous. I heard that and I didn't buy one. I bought my daughter an exersaucer instead. I love them. They are safer and babies aren't missing out on not using a walker. My daughter walked before she was one also.

Wow. I hope you write like that for amusement, and that you can actually communicate in English. Research has shown that walkers do not aid in teaching a child to walk, and that extended time in a walker can actually slow an infant's independant walking development. In addition, children can walk into a swimming pool, into a fireplace, or down a flight of stairs if their parents are not attentive.

It can cause you to start walking before youre supposed to. This will add UNDO stress on the childs ankles and feet from the weight of their body and even though YOU may be fine, research has shown that its far more likely to damage your childs ability to walk correctly.

Humans have been walking and learning to walk for countless centuries before walkers were invented- we dont need inventions to help us manage it unless somehting is wrong with us.

I used one for my daughter she will be 2 in february, I never had any problems-as long child is kept away from stairs and anything dangerous that could be within their reach-then shouldn't be a problem. It's more or less for their amusement, not neccessarily for learning to walk, but it can help strengthen their legs. Very good excercise. and she started walking just before her 1st birthday.

It is because they can be dangerous, especially around inclines and stairs...also, because research shows that they do not help babies walk any sooner and may actually delay walking. here are some sites to help you:

Well they want yout o stop using them because a child can walk all over the house and get into stuff, and fall down stairs.

I liek the sausers. they have all the toys, a tray, and they are stationary.
