i have been reading alot of you guys answers on my question about my daughter.. when i say that i spank her i mean i spank her when she does things she know she isn't supposed to do, not because she tells me she likes her dad more, i don't want to put the wrong impression on anyone, i love her and would never hurt her for anything..

my ex husband and i have joint custody of our four year old daughter, when she is with him he lets her get away with every thing and so do his parents, so when she comes home its really hard on me when i don't let her get her way, she tells me she likes daddy's better cause he lets her do what she wants. I spank her but i feel like i'm being made out to be the bad guy here and i love my little girl, what do i do? will she always want daddy more or realize that i love her and thats why i don't let her get her way about everything??? HELP!!!

Does it work for you? It seems like it works for our 2 year old, but she keeps repeating the same behaviors.

We are having a little get together for her but it will be family only because she doesn't have any little friends yet (starts preschool this fall) except at church and they won't be able to come over for her special day. Do you have any ideas that we could use to help her feel special? So far what I'm doing is baking a cake and hanging up decorations for her. I was thinking of designating her a special "chair" to sit in at the birthday table when she opens her presents. I don't know what else. She has been very grumpy and says she is not going to turn 3 next week. I think she is afraid of not being a baby anymore. She has an older brother, 5.

I looked on DCFS's website for the daycare I want to put my son in. Because it is religous based they are not inspected by DCFS. Is there any regulations in the state of Florida on these type of daycares? And any way to research them?

i am having really bad problems with her eating each day i give her a healthy breakfast (cheerios or wetabix) then at 12.00pm i make a sandwich ,beans on toast or something similar she refuses to eat it no matter what i do nothing works including ignoring and star charts at 4.00pm i make a proper meal and she still wont eat then it gets to about 6pm and she is jittery and manic and i have to give her cereal .
i am at my wits end i don't let her fill up on juice i don't feed her junk and i saw my gp who told me she will grow out of it .
Some people say not to give her the cereal at night but then she gets shaky and i don't want her to be hungry .
none of my other kids were like this and i would be grateful for any advice

Can I start using water wings for my 17 month old son. Or do I need to keep using those floating things that he sits in?

We have good routines in place, he used to nap well, there is a stable environment, etc. If he does not nap we'll try to make up for it by putting him to bed early. I know he might be at the stage where he no longer needs a nap, but the problem is we can't get him to consistently sleep long enough at night (he'll either stay up for a while talking to himself at night or wake up early). Is this typical of an adjustment phase to not napping for you other parents out there?

I have a 2 year old that is always biting her older cousin. Is there a good way to break her from it? My wife smacks her mouth but I really dislike that. I believe the only place a kid should be hit is on their butt. Please give me some ideas. Thanks

I noticed my daughter used to have that tendency. e.g. if she falls down and sees no one is around she keeps on playing. But if she sees she will cry the minute she falls.

I have been giving my kids their medicine for their allegies, Zyrtec for a while now. Since I do not get home until after 5:00pm, I had been forgetting to take the medicine to the babysitter so I had to give them their dosages one after the other. The medicine said to give them one teaspoon twice a day, so that means that I was giving them two teaspoons once a day. I just called the pharmacist today to ask if this was fine, and stupid me had hesitated to call earlier. She said that it is better to wait at least eight hours in between because that way it's not pushing so much medicine in them at one time. And, it lets it settle better in their system. I know, what can I do now but to start giving them their medicines like I should. But shoot, I feel so bad now, I feel like a bad mother. I hope that all this time that I have been giving them their medicine at one time hasn't been affecting them greatly.
