My 4 year old (He'll be 5 in July) will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. He has been in daycare since he was 6 weeks old. Regardless, he doesn't get along well with other children. He has 2 older brothers, but they tend to leave him out. Therefore he likes to play alone. While in preschool, other children didn't like his ways. They would fight with him and make him feel unaccepted. He dreaded going to school everyday. Now I'm worried that he will be bullied in Kindergarten also. I want him to make friends. School is hard, and children are cruel. I am so worried :'(

My 2 year old can say her abcs, as well as many nursery ryhmes. she can also count to 20 and count backwards from 10. she can dress herself, even truning things the right way out. and shes toilet trained she can use the toilet completely unaided. she can recognise numbers and letters by sight. she knows all her animals, even odd ones like artic fox and all there sounds. she can draw stick figures that are clearly recognisable with facial features. she can speak basic spanish. even tho none of the family are spanish, thank dora for that! She can remember the morning childrens tv programing (the order of the shows), which i cant! She even plays educational games on the computer and can use a mouse and can tell which buttons to click on to play. she can also help with many household tasks, vacuuming, sweeping, washing vegies etc and helps with her younger brother. Is this average behaviour for a 2 year old?

My daughter had weird tantrums, and it seems like she can't stop and calm down. Today I had to hold her arms against her and tell her to take deep breathes to calm down. (I did it in a nice way for all of you who thought differently). What should I do?

I know it sounds silly but even though my son is a toddler I still feel like a brand new mom... i feel like an amuture I suppose. To all experienced mommies I have two questions

How can I make friends with these other mothers?

What do I do when another child is mean to my son or doesnt want to share with my child?

My son is 16 months old but can only say "dada", "that", "doggie", "nan". I am worried that he should be saying more at this age. He will be 17 months next week. What is the average age?

...what do you do with them on a daily basis? Do you take them anywhere, even if it's just shopping? Or is it too much of a challenge? When you're at home, what activities do you do to include them all?

My little boy has always had very dry skin. For some reason, his face seems to be drying out more than usual. All I can think of is that it's pretty hot down here for this time of year. His little cheeks will get red and dry and his chin dries out too. I've been using Aveeno Baby lotion on him and it works great on the rest of his body, but it's not working very well on his face. Anyone have any suggestions on how to reduce the redness and dryness on his poor little face?

My son is 2 and a half. He sometimes has meltdowns in public and they are very hard to deal with because it takes a great deal of time and patience to get hims to cool down.

...what educational things do you do to help your child's development? I feel like I'm wasting much of my children's potential because I can't think of educational activities for them. I already read to them and we play outside, etc., but the way my daughter can memorize things makes me realize that I'm not doing enough. Especially because those things tend to be things off of the TV. She's incredible at memorizing Disney songs - what could help me get her to memorize state capitals, for instance?

My nearly 2 year old son has started a very strange sleeping pattern. He wakes up early, won't nap, then sleeps from about 6pm to midnight. After that he wakes up ready to play, after a couple hours he goes back down until about 7am. Hes been doing this a few nights and I'm not sure how to fix it. We co-sleep, and at this point he does not want to go into his own bed, I'd love to hear from some parents who have had similar experiences.

A few weeks ago, I fed her scrambled eggs and she vomited within like 20 minutes. I chalked it up to a little tummy virus, because it never occurred to me it was the eggs since she eats egg products (like bread and pasta). Today, I gave her scrambled eggs again and she threw up again (she's eaten the other breakfast items many times with no problem, so I know it's the eggs). Have you ever heard of a child who can't eat fresh eggs, but can eat egg products?
