You can use the water wings, but if he is more comfortable in the floating thing then use that because he may not like floating in the water without that support underneath him.

i used to be a swim teacher (WSI certified) and I do NOT recommend water wings. go to a mommy and me class, teach him to float, make sure he stays in the shallow end, hold him while in the water. water wings make kids have a center of gravity that is not realistic in the water.

If you are going to be right there and have a good hold on him, the water wings will probably be enough.
But if you want him to be able to splash around a bit without anyone holding on to him, use the floatation device that he sits in.

It is time to enrol your son in swimming lessons. They have classes for Moms and Tots. In the meantime you can use water wings.

They also have those ltitle blow-up life jackets, which you can get at Walmart and places like that. That might be better than a raft cause he can actually splash around in the water, and it's on his whole body so you might feel a little more secure about it than with swimmies.

you can try and use the water wings but my son always falls forward so i was the one with the Support underneath. he was play better like that.
