Empathize with her about her loss. "I know it is really hard for you. I can tell that you're very sad about this. You must miss your hamster so much." Let her grieve. You can even bury the pet and have her make a tombstone.
There are some great books out there to help children understand more about death. Go to your local library and ask the librarian for help. Lifetimes by Bryan Mellonie is a good book that I read to my preschoolers when a classroom pet dies.
Hope this helps!

why don't you just get a family dog?
the animals are just going to keep DYING, believe me, fish and hamsters? yeah, they don't last long. same with birds. just get a dog! if allergies is a problem try getting a dog that doesn't shed, that usually helps.
besides, fish and hamsters are not fun to play with and children soon lose interest.

Give them a proper burial/memorial that always helps cope with the death of humans and animals

she should get over it but to replace them might not be a good idea because she might accidently call her new pet the same name as the last one and that will make it hard for her to forget but i think you should do what you think is right!!!!! hope i helped!!! :)
