Go back to basics.....
Cut out sugar, caffine, junk food, etc
Feed them lots of fresh, unprocessed food
Take control, discipline them the first time everytime. If you dont and wait till the 3rd or 4th time of telling them to stop then they think they wont get in trouble till the 3rd of 4th time.

Tell them the same thing that your parents told you. You do not pay me to entertain you. I have a daughter that is 3 1/2 also and when she is making me crazy I tell her to go into her room and play or play in the back yard. I have also been know to let the play in the tub for an hour or so. I fill the tub with tons of cooking utensils and tell her to make me a cake then when that is done I have her built a princess castle. I also set up a tea party and serve her and her 3 doll 'friends' they are very cute...
Twins...my hat is off to you my dear.....one can make me crazy. Good Luck.
P.S. The water on the floor is a small price to pay for content children (who by the way are quite good at helping mommy wash the floor, I give her the towel and have her clean up the mess.

I agre with the cutting out sugar part. Also ignore bad behaviour and praise good behaviour. Just take whatever it is they are doing wrong away from them, say nothing and walk away. They will soon learn if they want attention from you to do things your way and behave properly. When my twins have tantrums and wont get out of my face so we can all calm down, I put them outside on the doorstep for a moment, then when they stop screaming I open the door and ask if they've finished. I usually get a yes, sorry mummy and they come back inside and behave better! lol

I am a twin, and first hand when they get together they can be trouble. I would get a time out chair and EVERY time they did something wrong I would put them in it and make them sit for 5 min. If they got up the timer would start over. The chair should be in a room that is not entertaining to them and don't put them together, keep them separate while they are in time out. My twin sister and I are almost 31 and we don't like being apart for long,

Turn off the TV more often. Kids are picking up HORRIBLE habits from the brats we call child stars.
Take them to Story Hour at the library.
BE FIRM with them. Ignore them when they don't act as you expect them to, but make sure you set clear expectations.
PUNISHMENT and reinforcements are good. Take something away when they misbehave.
About the attention span ~ check their diets ~ too much sugar and artificial flavoring can wreck a child's brain development.
Best wishes, good Mommy!

Kids need brain food like fruits in abundance and water .Fish and related products are good for those who have no allergies. Watch their nutrition.especially sugar laden and food coloring products.Nature is a stimulating classroom.Expose them to the unfamiliar so that they can be fascinated and want to know more.Put an apron on them and encourage them to paint with a sponge or brush. Create a scrapbook or picture book. Children are intelligent and need to be challenged more. Never give them a chance to win at negative or unacceptable behaviour It is not cute..Introduce them to music via a keyboard or one of their/your choice.Supervision is powerful especially if you are involved.Children need time with people who love them more than things.

Ignoring them when they're bad is hard. As a choild, I thrived on negative attention bc my parents both worked all day and came home to feed me and Off to bed.being bad got their attention even though I was a good kid. Finding something they love will refocus their attention. For instance, music or nature may pique their interest. Good luck!
