Do you have a birth-3 program? If not your Pediatrician can recommend one, or call your local public schools.

The public school system is required by federal law to evaluate your child and give your child speech therapy for free. I have children with speech disorders as well. That is once you child turns 3. Before age 3, there should be an Early Intervention program that your pediatrician should have recommended that is also usually free. My last child started speech therapy at the age of 8 months, so it is never too early. My 4 year old has apraxia, a speech disorder, and I learned from her not to wait. She has been in therapy for a few years, and it is still very difficult to understand her speech. My youngest will be 2 on Sept. 1st. I have a feeling that he will eventually be diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, at the moment he has a 46 percent communication delay. He can mimic very well when he feels like it, but it is usually out of the blue. Most people think he is deaf, but he is not.

My son had a hard time talking, so we had him tested by headstart, then we put him in Pre-K in a our school district where he recieved speech therapy daily. And now you can't even tell that he had any problems. But here is what I could find fot Indiana.

Check it out and see if there is anything near you. Best of luck, I know how hard it is.
