Give each child a felt cape attached around the neck with a rubber band and button. (hard to choke each other that way)
Pin the bat on the skyscraper (using stick tack)
Black balloons hanging half way down from the ceiling with black ribbon and paper bats at the ends of each of them. It's fun to play "freeze" to cool music underneath them and musical chairs (or pillows, it's safer) They can take one home with them when they go. I recommend making them higher than what the kids can reach or you spend the whole time telling them to put them back in whatever room you chose to play games in.
Make your own bat masks with Popsicle sticks and pre-cut bat shaped eye cut outs. Then they can decorate them with neon shaped stickers.
Put a rubber bat in each loot bag and some batman stickers.
Good luck with your party, I hope if you're having more than 3 kids you'll have the parents stay too! It's one thing to babysit 3 year olds and it's another to have them at a party so do yourself a favour!!

get a clown face pinata and pretend its the joker
or those bop it clowns that bounce back up again when you punch them, and the little kids could each get capes and batman hats and beat up the joker?
mister freeze pops?
play pounce on poison ivy? no thats no good. dont do that. heh.
three is awful little, what can they understand at that age.
Maybe hide pretend gold coins or something all over the backyard, and pretend like the penguin and joker stole some treasure and they have to find all the treasure. It would be like an easter egg hunt, with big plastic coins. Would that be a choking hazard?
And pin the tail on the penguin?

How about decorating your place like the bat cave? You could also hire a man in a batman costume.

batman carnival-like masks for the boys and batgirl or catwoman's for girls... foamy bat-shaped candy bags.... if there is a restroom, decorate it like the bat cave hahaha... if you invite a clown, if you can, ask him to dress up like the joker.
(inviting arnold shwratzenegger (spelling??) dressed up like mr.cold and using him as a piñata would be a cute detail ^-^)
