My daughter is 4 weeks old. She eats 4 oz milk every 3-4 hrs. She weighed 6 lbs 13 oz when she was born she now weighs 9 lbs 4 oz. Im worried about her eating too much. I know alot of babies are fat but I dont want her to keep it on. My cousins son is 4 and severly over weight. Is it wrong to want my child to be healthy and not be bullied. i guess i feel like when she wants alot of food then later on she will want to eat and eat and she will learn hey if I cry mom will give it too me.

When do you plan on going back to work? If your children are in elementary school what do you do during the day while they are away. I stayed home before, and loved it. Daughter going to first grade next year and I thought I needed a job. Now I am not so sure, I miss the home and simple life we had before, and so does hubby. I never knew what career I wanted to do with my life anyways, being a mom is the best.

My niece whom I love dearly is pregnant and asking for my advice on what to do. I really don't know what to tell her, it is a little to late to give her the speech I plan on giving my own daughter (plz wait until your married and older). I thought my sister had given that speech but my niece said NO she was not told this. I am afraid to tell her to keep it,in that I don't know any teen moms who raise a well adjusted child and did good for them self also. I do not know how she feels about about abortion. I know how I feel, but is it ok to tell her that? Adoption sounds great but I don't know if she would even consider it.If you have any advice I would apperiate it.

I have an acquaintance (our husbands are friends) who I email back and forth from time to time. I recently emailed all of the people on my contacts list pictures of my son getting messy with his 1st birthday cake. About a week or so later she and her husband stop by my hubby’s work to ask him about something and she mentions the cute photos that I sent.

She then proceeds to tell my husband that she has an organic cake recipe that she is going to use for her son's first birthday (6 months away, mind you) and that maybe I'd want the recipe. She then explains that she found the recipe because she would never feed her son sugary cake on his first birthday. What was the point of her bringing this up 6 months before her son's birthday and after I've already had my son's first birthday?? It seems to me that she's always making little 'I'm a better Mom than you' comments.

Do you agree that her comments sound snotty and competitive?

I want to move out of my M but not at the cost of my kids. My H has been abusive in all ways and had a very strong emotional A before M with his collegue .He is a very nice and caring father to kids and worst person for me . I have tried my best to develop a bond with him but feels like i am failure now
he is away for few days on official trip and my kids are missing him .I am feeling very hurt that how is it posible that my kids love him so much . I am not able to digest the fact that for kids,my 24*7 parenting is equivalent to his 20 minutes time which he spends with them after coming from office.
Though i have done my best but if my kids love him so much and are missing him then i would prefer to put up my efforts again to live with him ..so its very imporatnt to have proper analysis of kids psychology.Help me in that.
thanks

My husband disagrees with me on this....We have 2 children and they still both sleep in our bedroom, it makes me feel safer because there are some sick people out there and maybe I am just paranoid. I do not think it will hurt them emotionally and I figure when they are ready to move into their own bedroom that they will let me know. BTW my daughter is 7 and my son is 21 months. They have their own beds so we do have the bed to ourselves. Am I overprotective or is this normal??

I asked to join a playgroup/mom's group where "everyone is welcome" and got told that "I'm sure you would rather be in a special needs group" because my son has cerebral palsy.

Doesn't this sound like they are trying to tell me they don't want my son in their group? There aren't any special needs playgroups around here anyway. Besides the fact that it shouldn't matter if he has cerebral palsy or not! Just because he can't walk shouldn't mean that he should be segregated from "normal" kids.

I am really feeling angry about this. What should I say to this woman?

Back in elementary school, I was bullied and wanted to change classes in school. I informed my mom about it one night before going to bed, and the next morning she told me that she had trouble sleeping because she couldn't stop thinking about how upset I was. Has something like this happened to you?

My child is having difficulty during the beginning of the week, because his mother forgets to give him his medication on the weekend. She says that she forgets and he doesn't remind her. He's 8 y/o and I don't think that that should be his responsibility.

my daughter is 3 years old and she always asks to go see her grandparents (my parents) but sometimes they work until late at night.
we live about 15 minutes away from them. we live in a small town while they live outside of this town in the country.
See i dont mind taking her out to see them but when we go out there I have nothing to do and become very much bored.
and she just absolutely loves them and would leave me in a heart-beat for them. if i drop her off and leave she ends up taking a nap at the wrong time which throws off her whole sleeping habits.
when i do go out there my mom just gets mad at me about dumb things too.
So what could i do?
they try to get mad at me about the way i "raise" my daughter also.
should they have a say?
i think that they had their chance in raising me and my siblings, right?

Allright, I know what everyone is thinking. Another child sleeping problem, but we've tried everything. We make sure he's fed, give him a warm bath and a warm bottle of milk. Leave him in his crib, but he just won't sleep until he gets cuddled and comforted. We're ok with letting him cry it out, but hte problem is he cries so loud that he starts coughing and often times he throws up because of that - so that's not an option. Anyone have any other ideas? He's 15 months old.

I guess it's normal that kids like hotdogs more than vegetables but why is that the case? i remember that when i was a kid, vegetables were a complementary dish my mom would prepare for the family. What causes kids to dislike our green friends?

how do we get to make them eat it?

The parents seem they are fed up with me and spraying their kids with the hose but I am disabled and don't want to hear the balls bouncing and the kids screaming. There is a park 2 blocks away. Is it the parents not doing their job or is it me getting too annoyed and taking it to the extreme?

Okay does anyone think kids these days are growing up rather fast? Puberty can begin as early as 8 years old in girls. In additon, i seem more children nowadays talking about their boyfriends, wearing makeup, wearing rather feeling clothes. I see some children boss their mothers and fathers around in stores. Does anyone else notice this? Is this normal?

Did any of you have trouble with your dog when your baby began crawling because the baby was touching the dog and coming into it's space and what did you do to correct the behaviour if the dog was growling or snappy?
Please only answer if you can give me suggestions and tips that involve keeping the dog and not banishing it from the family.
Thanks.
