NO!!! It's never a good idea to expose your child to a drug addict. And 16 is the age where he's going to want to experiment and see what all is out there. No, I wouldn't let them hang out together until the uncle has been clean for a while.

I don't think a teen, no matter what age, should be with any one who has a drug problem. The last thing you need is for your child to pick up the drug problem as well. Not saying that the uncle will introduce the teen to meth or any other drug for that matter, but I would not risk my childs safety. Let him get clean first, and even still, use caution.

No they shouldn't hang out together. Not only do you have to worry about your child using the drug you have to worry about what goes on in that house. Drug addicts use every means possible to get what they want. How would you feel if he took your child with him to a drug house to get it? What if your child was somewhere with him and they got busted? What about the other people that will be around your child just like the uncle? Think about your child's safety.

Never leave a child alone with a known drug addict. Only allow contact when there is close adult supervision. This sounds harsh but a teenager doesn't have the maturity to resist a person they love when they're being pressured to enable an addiction, Like "borrowing" money from someone without them knowing it or even "try it, it's not that bad "

I would definitely not let my 16 year old hang out with anyone who has a meth addiction. And I think you should let the addict know. If this is your brother, then say, "I love you, but I don't think you are in control of your life, so how can I trust you to be responsible for my son's life..."
I have a friend whose sons were both introduced to drugs by her brother. The brother died of hepatitis, and the boys well, they've both got huge drug problems.

yes he should be clean first children at that age are very influenced by what their peers are doing.she may think it cool that he does it or maybe she is one of the smart ones who knows its really not.it will hurt him to know she cant see him but in the long run u may be doing u all a favor.its a sickness and dieses that can not be treated without help and drs.so lay the law down u must be there when they visit otherwise no visiting until he gets help. good luck and hang in there it gets better sooner or later

You should let the uncle teach him how to make money on the street, as perhaps you son could become the next Tony Montana...buy you a nice house, etc...Get Real !...no drug addicts near ANY of your children !

no. they shouldn't hang out. as for getting clean, the uncle has been addicted for a long time, so it'll make it very hard to quit.

Uh no!How do you know that your very impressionable young teen might not pick up this bad bad habit too.I see it all the time on that show intervention.Teens are the worse with the meth.Maybe you should look in to an intervention for the uncle.Good luck!!
