To have to spank is not the highlight of parenting. For one thing it means that your child has not gotten the message and it had to be reinforced through punishment.
And it is not real pleasant. There is a lot of crying and emotional tension.
And I would rather prevent pain than intentionally inflict it.
But I do not feel "bad" about it. It is something that I feel needs to be done at times--and is an important and necessary thing.

I have. But that is why I quit spanking. There are other ways to teach a child what is ok and what is not. Take care. By the way, discipline, means to disciple, or to teach.

Of course I would feel awful if I spank (hit, swat, hurt in any way) my kids and I would never hurt an adult, let alone a child.People who assume this as 'discipline' are sick. They should read a book on parenting or join some parenting classes. There are very good discipline techniques and we shouldn't go back to the easiest and silliest one - spanking, swatting, hitting, hurting at all.

A spanking isn't beating your baby. in case you employ it with love. till now spank your baby you ought to refer to her in a worrying voice and clarify to her that it rather is unexceptable to act that way. and then spank her and deliver her to outing . An as quickly as outing is over ask her what she has discovered. your little ones could have alot greater admire for you in case you handle in a loving matter.

If things have gotten to the point where my child needs to be spanked, then no. Happily, I have taught my child well enough, that it never gets to that point.

I don't spank, but I do feel bad if I yell or get frustrated with them. I really hate it when I tell them to go play when I'm making dinner and they just want to help, I'm pregnant with my third and sometimes, I am so tired that its just too much to have them help. I feel horrible for it. I never hesitate to apologize if I feel bad, it shows them that I lose nothing to apologize and we can all feel better if I do.

Let me assure you, that even now , when my baby is almost 30; I deeply regret that I used to spank him. Mostly it was when I was out of control, not him. When I was calm and rational, a good talking to, and grounding always worked better.

No, not at all. If he needs a spanking, I just do what is necessary. Why would you feel bad for disciplining your child when they need it?

Yes, and I quit because of it. If it makes you feel like you've done something wrong, you ought not do it.
