I quit when I found out I was pregnant. i had a miserable pregnancy morning sickness and then bedrest. I planned on going back to work when she was about 3 months old, we'll now shes here and I cannot imagine anyone else watching my precious angel. My mom lives a couple houses away and she comes and gets her for a few hours everyonce in a while and Im like mom make sure u do this an dthat. Shes raised 5 kids. The other day my husband & I went out to dinner for the first time since I had her and his mom watched her and all I thought about was her. Plus now im wanting to have baby # 2 in a bout 2 years so I will be starting all over agian. Im thinking maybey the best job is being a mommy.

I am a stay at home mom and wife. I have a 5 year old and recently found out i am (2 weeks pregnant) expecting again which was planned. Both pregnancies were planned.
What do i do all day? What don't i do all day is the question. I cook, clean, run errands, pay bills, make sure we all have what we need, help my son with his homework, getting him ready for school, driving to school, countless amount of things everyday.
When your a mom, your job is never ending and you never get time off. When my son does go to bed i do get on the Internet or when i am suffering from insomnia i get on which is no crime.
I have a degree in a certain profession but i do not plan on working because my husband takes very good care of us but if i had to work then i would.
I love being a stay at home mom!

I was a teacher, and thought for sure I would go back maybe after a year. But, it was too important t stay home; we saw the huge difference it made. Then, I thought, well, when he starts school. Again, husband and I went through pros and cons, and decided it was totally important for me to be home when he got home from school - and it really is. That's when a kid needs to unload from the day, get hugs and kisses, and unwinds. It's great to have it happen at home, than with a sitter. Actually, now he is in high school --- and all the same things apply! He is just as much in need of me before and after school than EVER.
In ways, I have missed teaching, and we have made many sacrifices with my husband working really hard and us doing without lots of stuff. However, it's all been totally worth it.
So as you say, being a mom IS the best. Hurray for SAHMs!

I'm a SAHM with a 16 month and 4 month old sometime I want to back to work sometime I want to stay home it's hard but I'm thinking about going back when they are 4 and 5 because they are a year apart born on the same right now childcare is so expensive that money my husband can be saved for something else like college for the kids or a family vacation.

My hubby and I work different shifts so one is home with the princess. He works from 6-2:30pm and I work from 5:30pm-2:00am. And we have weekends together. I worked part time for the first 2 years and now I work full time. We are trying to decide on when I should switch back to a day job 3,4, or when kindergarten starts. It is different for each person and each family. We could not afford for me to stay home full time, plus the health insurance is great where I work. If you can afford it then that is great and if you and hubby want that forever go for it. Being a stay at home mom or dad is a full time career in it self. Do what works for your family and God Bless.

What do you mean, go back to work? Your second job? The one outside your home? Why go back to it if you don't want to, or if you are, you can leave it, and be a stay at home mom. There is nothing wrong with that. Being a mom and wife is a 24 hr. job. Especially for your child. When I was growing up, I sure did appreciate it when I'd walk in the door from school, and see my mom or sister (older) to greet me. Take care. And, yes being a mom IS the BEST JOB.

Just get a part time job during school hours and put the money in a savings account. You're going to need it when she's a teen-trust me on this. If nothing else, it could be a college fund. I'm a stay at home mom out of necessity- My teens keep getting in trouble (one in particular) and I got tired of getting called out of work. It's killing me though. I'm bored, I'm tired of spending my days cooking and cleaning, and then cooking some more (houseful of growing boys) and waiting for phone calls from the school. I want more. The one good side- there's no end to the cleaning. There's a constant flow of laundry and wall washing and fixing broken and ripped things. Boys-sigh...!

I planned on going back to work when my son went into first grade.... ha ha ha, I am busier than my husband on any given day. I volunteer in my son's classes, run errands for teachers and the principal, and now that he is 11.... I finally have another baby to think about. I love being a stay at home mom, even if I don't get much at home time.
When I was working, dinners were rushed and crappy, I hardly got to see hubby or my son.

When my youngest attends school full time, I will see if a job comes to me. I'm sure eventually, I will "want" a job, after I get my little one settled into the routine of school days.
First, I will search for a job that would accomodate my schedule-I want to be available for field trips, class parties, school events, etc. So, most likely it would be a part time job, close to home.
I've been home for about 3 years now with my youngest home with me, and the oldest at school, working part time on the weekends.
I often look forward to having my own responsibilities, when the time is right.

Get the best of both worlds stay at home and work....I sell home interiors from my home its great i get to set my own hours and work from home!! You make your own paycheck..if you want a little extra money...book extra shows that week. I enjoy being able to take family vacations without having to worry about taking vacation time! You get your paycheck after you have a show. So you dont have to wait to get your money. IT only cost me $99 to join. I made that back my first week! Money is not the only benifit they offer. Every month when you reach a certain selling level you get dimond ceritficates and at the end of the year you cash them in for diamonds and what women dosent love diamonds! you can also earn trips to the bahamas and cruises. Plus some months we have specials where if you earn so much and hold so many shows they give you cash bonuses! AWESOME!!! If this sounds like something your interested in just let me know id be glad to help or even send you some extra information! I love staying at home and making money..my husband loves it too! Plus I meet lots of great people and make lots of great friends! my email is cfritch@sbcglobal.net if you have any more ?'s and if interior decorating isnt for you i know great websites that you can find other great businesses where you can work from home!
