Back in elementary school, I was bullied and wanted to change classes in school. I informed my mom about it one night before going to bed, and the next morning she told me that she had trouble sleeping because she couldn't stop thinking about how upset I was. Has something like this happened to you?

YES! I feel more pain than my children do.... It kills me to know that my children hurt and you can't take that pain from them!!! You feel helpless as a parent... after all, parents are supposed to protect their children... it is a very sad feeling when you can't. I have tried to tell myself that they will be better adults when they go through life lessons. It is still the hardest part of parenting to me! I cry for my 19 year old when his gf breaks up with him... i have been there, and I know how it hurts

My twins were in ICU at 7wks old with RSV. They were doing very poorly and I was so distraught that I wished I could take their pain! The most upsetting thing for a parent is to see their child go through something terrible that they cannot fix! By the way, my babies are now 4months old and in excellent health.

i cried like a baby when my daughter had immunizations and she stopped before i did..i felt so bad i actually wanted to smack the nurse for hurting her but the reasonable part of my brain said not to..haha. she was also born premature and stayed in a level 2 nursery for the first couple of days and i slept for like 2 hours a day when the nurses forced me out cause i was too tired to hold her.....i cannot stand my baby to be uncomfortable much less in pain

Greatly.. It makes me psychically ill to know or even think of my two girls hurting. Its hard to cope when you love someone so much and they are hurting you want to do anything you can to stop that hurt or protect them against anything that might harm them. and yes over the years we have had to deal with hurt and upsets similar to what you described above.

My daughter told me once that she lost some money while she was roller skating, she thought she put it in her pocket but must have fell out. She was ok with it but I must have cryed for a week over it.

Yes, I hurt and cry when my children hurt and cry. Sometimes more than they do. It goes to show how much a parent loves their children.
