My dog of 10 years finally passed away, prior to that, my family and I had taken her to numerous vets, however none of them knew what was wrong with her. When we took her home, she sat idly and didn't move much at all and then a week later on a rainy night she passed away on the back porch, and I didn't find out till I got home from work early evening. The vets gave her a shot and I could swear she was fine, but anyhow to this day I still can't get over it.

So how does everyone cope with the loss of their pets? Please feel free to share as this is quite difficult for me to get by.

I dont live at home anymore, but my mum called and told me my dog has been coughing for the pass two weeks, she only does it occaisionally both during the day and night. It sounds like she is trying to bring up something. However she's eating as normal and doesnt shy away when i feel or look in her throat (She is usually sensitive when anything is bothering her) She seems perfectly healthy and happy except for the cough. Any advice????

When I attempt to put a collar on Teal'c (my puppy) he backs into a corner and seems to be afraid. Any tips on putting his collar on succesfully without him being afraid?

I have tried treats and having someone in the family help me put it on him.

She usually loves the beach, but today when a kite was flying, she put her tail between her legs and wanted to flee.

Have been reading some forums and there has been many comments saying that corn is not good for dogs and it shouldn't be in dog food.

We feed our 2 large breed puppies Eukanuba, and cannot afford anything more expensive.

Any suggestions if I want to cook for them myself? Also, I give them raw chicken wings but my 7mth old golden has started woolfing them down and I'm worried about him choking, any other raw food I can give them?

Would appreciate any recipes or suggestions.

I live in the SE America, and have another mixed dog that is about 21-23 inches at withers and weighs about 70 lbs. My family and I want another dog but my dad wants a smaller dog than we have but I want a dog that is the same size or just a little bigger. My dad thinks that rottweilers and german shephers are bad because of their bad publicity. He is also worried about the husky because we do live in a warmer area... I think the high sometimes can reach 95 degrees. The husky would be left inside unless it had to use the restroom and would have fresh, cold water always available. Any of the dogs i mentioned sound like fair dogs to me. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME THE REGULAR GOLDEN OR LABRADOR RETRIEVER!!

5 MONTHS old pomeranian . she is developed a limp, pain seems to be in the thigh when pulled outwards, she tries to sit leaning againsta wall, able to run on 3 legs, eating well n otherwise fine. initially i gave her brufen , then i consulted a vet n added neurobion forte and complamina orally. i'v tried piroxicam andt prednisolone injection once too. not much improvement though, but does NOT seem to have worsened. vet says its a muscle incoordination. she s been on regular calcium, vitamin supplements n vaccinated , WHAT DO I DO? im not panicking but worried.

My Red Nose is 7 generation. We went through one heat......but now people are telling me completely different things, like, "If you have a litter of puppies, she will get protective, but too laid back." "Don't get her fixed, she will get lazy." Please help my family make the best choice. As of right now, she is just over a year, seems to kind of understand protecting, but will puppies improve her protective attitude, or slow her down. Thanking you in advance from "Smoke" (named after #20 Tony Stewart of nascar)

Well we just got our first dog, he is a 5 month old siberian husky/samoin husky mix. We have a fully fenced in yard and tried just leaving him outside with toys, food/water but he both digs and after a neighbor was screaming at me tonight apparently he barks none stop. We dont want to let him run free in the house from fear of him chewing things up or making a mess of things. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thx,
Anthony
