My bosses German Shepherd must have developed some new allergies due to some treats we were giving her that had wheat in them and now she just licks her paws none stop. She has nothing wrong with them, nothings stuck or anything like that. I got an answer from someone stating that it must be in her diet and could possibly be the wheat ingredient. Can I give her any allergy pills to have her stop I just think she must be irritable and that's why she licks? Kinda like with itchy eyes we scratch or runny tickly noses we scratch.

A friend has a trained seizure-alert dog that needs a new home (previous owner unable to care for dog now).

Since there aren't any dedicated service organizations in the US for seizure alert dogs, she is having trouble finding a family for the dog. Any ideas on where to look? The dog is a "working dog" and needs to have the job she was trained for -- life as an ordinary pet isn't working out.

This question might sound awful, but my male shih-tzu is four months and hasn't dropped yet...is that normal? I would like him to be fertile so we can breed with my aunts female shih-tzus. Thanks

Yesterday I noticed his stool looked a little odd, soft and one appeared as if it was in a "casing", such as in a sausage. Today it looked better, more solid, then he came in and ate very little and then threw up. He vomits quietly so I didn't know and by the time I caught on he licked up most of it. There was a couple food pebbles in it. I took him out again and not more than a couple minutes after getting back in he threw up 3 more times. The first was yellow and slimy, the second even more slimy and now more orange, and the third the same with more of a reddish color and it was so much like mucus that some just dangled from his mouth without dripping. He only ate the little bit I fed him this morning and has not eaten since. He also is not drinking water as much as usual, so I did feed him an ice cube. He was playful earlier, but has lately just been lying down. He likes to attack the vet so I'm holding off. Anyone have any suggestions in the meantime?

I love white rice and my dog seems to love when I mix white rice left overs with his dog food.
Is it OK to feed your dog with Rice?

I need help. My husband and I are parents to three dogs, and two of them took to house training just fine. Our third dog is about a year and a half old, and will not learn. It seems that she understands the concept, but does not see the need to hold it and wait. We are at wits end and are tired of waking up in the morning to poop piles and pee stains on the carpet.

We have tried everything standard and normal we can think of, and have even gone to a few extremes - crating her all night (she just whined for two weeks straight and begged to go out), limiting her feeding time (didn't seem to effect it at all). We're at the point where we are starting to wonder if there is something wrong with her.

Can anyone make a suggestion as to what we can try? We're pretty savvy pet owners, and have read up on this extensively. We can't seem to find a solution - even sprays, moth balls, etc. don't work - she just poops and pees around them. We're going crazy - what do we do?

I live in an area that gets very hot - well in to the three digits. My American Eskimo dog stays inside most of the time, but on occasion he needs to stay out in the yard. (Yes there are plenty of places for him to have shade and water.)

I know that some people shave their dogs' coats during the summer season, but I've also heard that their coat actually keeps them "insulated" from the heat. Which is true?

are they known ti be aggressive? I know it all depends on the certain dog, but Have you heard about aggressive problems with these? I thought that theywer nice andOne of the most calm, nicest, sweetest dogs I have ever met was an Austrailian Cattle dog. But then on a website abotu dog breeds, I saw that they continuously said that they are aggreisive, protective, and not good with children. Your opinion and maybe some webistes with this breed, please?
Thank You!

My dog has his home in the back yard in a big fenced kennel. But the grass is completely gone and it is just mud since it has been raining. What would be good to put back there that will make the grass grow back thick like it was?. I want him to have lots of thick grass because he loves rolling around in it. Now he looks like a muddy pig.

I have a 4 month old female Bull terrier. She received her first 2 sets of puppy shots, however after her second set, she broke out in hives and had a rash all over her body. My vet said she was fine and I went in to get her third set and he gave her a shot of benadryl with the shots and she STILL broke out all over.
My vet wants her to have her last set and her rabies shot, I on the other hand want her to have a Titer done in order to see if she has anti-bodies already for both. My vet says that is unneccesary and the shots will not hurt her. What should I do?
