Take your puppy to training class and learn more about dogs and training than your friend ever dreamed of. That will make you a more knowledgeable person than she is and your dog way smarter than hers. Cute doesn't last; smart does.

First of all you are good friends, and that likely means you will sometimes get on one another's nerves. She is likely very happy to have a new puppy and cannot forget about it for a moment. If you think back when you got Ben and Maxi you likely behaved the same way. Pretty soon all 3 pups will be playing together, tugging at toys, and bossing one another around, then quickly start a game of chase and will be best friends too.

I'm sure she's simply over the moon with her new puppy. I'm sure to her the puppy is the cutest ever born. I think my 4 are too. You are the same with yours. Be happy she has found a dog to love (after all you already have 2!)
In time she's going to calm down. You can share training tips and walk your dogs together and enjoy them all.
She's not going to shut up about the pup at least for a while so try and make it a fun thing for you both. You will always love Ben and Maxi and that's what matters most.

Of course she's over the top about her puppy - that's how most new pet owners behave - I know I did. I don't think it's a "Show off" thing, I think it's simply an old fashioned case of puppy love. I know that our friends were probably sick of us rambling on and on about how precious and cute and smart and adorable our puppy was when we got him. This will slow down in time, however, she will most likely believe that her dog is the cutest dog ever born - period. That's okay - you know that yours are the cutest in the world. Think back to when you first got your precious babies; you were probably annoying to others about them huh? Try not to let it bother you because we all think OUR dog is the best - That's how it should be! Don't be petty or jealous. Be happy for your friend. This is another interest that the two of you can share, and you, being the more seasoned pet owner, can offer her invaluable advice on training, feeding, etc. Try not to compete - All puppies and dogs are special.

Tell her to wait and see what hers looks like as an adult. I think King Charles Spaniels are CUTE puppies, but they are weird looking when they are adults. Cockers are cute as puppies as well as adults, so maybe let her have her moment now, because in a year, she will be singing a different tune!

Awww, she's just being a proud mom. Tell her her little guy is wonderful. When he gets a little older, I'll bet Ben and Maxi would like to have a play date with Murphie!

Tell her that while yes her puppy is cute, Which is cuter is a matter of feelings and is therefor different for each person. Then ask her to tone it down.

Give it time, it will wear off. It's so very new for her, and I can see how it's annoying. If it's easier, then try not to see her too often, but if that's not possible, next time she starts talking about her dog, change the topic, right away, everytime, until she gets the message.

Hi
My friend hannah won't ever stop goin on about her 'princess' Daisy. She's made a site for her and everything...she claims IT is a princess and when I got the cutest american pitbull in the world and showed pictures to my mates she said it was a stupid pack of bones and kept insulting it...my friends all said that she was blind, and her boxer is just a lump of fat etc. She always talks about her dog infront of me and even dedicated a wall to her 'god' (her dog) in our classroom last year. Everyone stuck pins in the boxers eyes though. Lol!

tell her to wate untill her pup is an adult to comapir.
If you honestly think your dog is cuter then put up a poll online and see who says what.
Remind her that your dog was just as cute hen he was 8 weeks old and now he looks respectable.
yeah well at least my dog does not pee on the floor.

I would just tell her that her attitude is annoying and that it's as offensive as saying that her kids are smarter, prettier, better behaved.... etc... than yours.
You both love your dogs .. it's not a competition .. make her realise that what she is saying could upset you ...
She's excited about getting a new puppy and you should share in that .. but let her know that she is being insensitive..
