Yesterday I noticed his stool looked a little odd, soft and one appeared as if it was in a "casing", such as in a sausage. Today it looked better, more solid, then he came in and ate very little and then threw up. He vomits quietly so I didn't know and by the time I caught on he licked up most of it. There was a couple food pebbles in it. I took him out again and not more than a couple minutes after getting back in he threw up 3 more times. The first was yellow and slimy, the second even more slimy and now more orange, and the third the same with more of a reddish color and it was so much like mucus that some just dangled from his mouth without dripping. He only ate the little bit I fed him this morning and has not eaten since. He also is not drinking water as much as usual, so I did feed him an ice cube. He was playful earlier, but has lately just been lying down. He likes to attack the vet so I'm holding off. Anyone have any suggestions in the meantime?

He is vaccinated, current, and in fact was just checked out by the local humane society when he was there for 2 days. The food I feed him is from a large bag of dry food I've had for 6 weeks or so. It was not and currently is not on any recall list. When he goes out he eats nothing. No sticks, bugs, grass, etc. I am always with him outside and he has not eaten anything. He also has not gotten into anything in the house.

It relies upon on the placement. If the dogs is whelping a muddle of domestic dogs or a cat has a sprint diarhhea then the 1st determination would be to preserve it at domicile to work out if the placement gets extra proper. And mutually as waiting human beings can ask different puppy proprietors in the event that they have any suggestions on a thank you to handle the problem and ask for typical suggestion. If it does not get extra proper then the subsequent determination is the vet. some human beings do have some hum dingers on right here, yet for the main section the questions are good, valid ones.

Don't hold off getting him to the vet - they're used to be attacked so they'll just have to deal with it. That reddish colour in your dog's vomit is very probably blood, and that 'casing' his poo was in is mucous, perhaps indicating a large intestine problem. He could well have an obstruction in his intestine.

All these symptoms indicate that this can NOT wait - if it gets any worse, and it will, the dog is going to be in serious trouble. I would say he needs to get to a vet within the next 24 hours but if he was my dog I'd be getting him to en emergency vet if I couldn't get him in to a vet that day, because I know this is the sort of thing that needs to be treated as early as possible.

I do not know how old your dog is & if he is vaccinated for the basic viruses that dogs can get, but if he is not , then this may be the cause of his illness. Also, there are other viruses that dogs can get that there are no vaccines to protect them from. I do not know the climate where you are, but summertime is when these viruses hit. Also, he may have gotten into the garbage, ate a bone, or some dogs eat rocks, sticks, etc. outside that can get stuck & make him very sick. The best thing is to take him to the vet. even though he does not like to go. He's sick, getting dehydrated, & weak. He needs help.

Take to the vet ASAP because of all those recalled foods out there it would be in your and your dog's best interest to take him there. It sounds like that he has either gotten bad food or maybe gotten into something in the house that might be poisonous. You should really really go to the vet.
Please for the dog's sake.

If you hold off too long, the dog's going to die. It sounds like a digestion problem. You need to take him to the vet as soon as possible. In his condition, he's probably not going to "attack" the vet. He's probably in pain and won't want to move at all.

I would at least call a vet and get their opinion. They may want you to bring him in for some testing. I know that animals can get sick from time to time, but it could be serious. Do you think he got into something that could have made him sick? Hopefully it's nothing serious, but you need to have your dog checked out ASAP just in case.

please check your dog food, and check to see whether its on the recall list, also you havent mentioned whether its a puppy? has he been vaccinated, is his stools normal today? i would suggest taking him to avet immd, the more you delay the worser chances you are giving your dog to get better, also its not advisable to wait for answers from here to treat him, for goodness's sake, how is anyone on this site expected to really advice you on your dog when apparently he is showing all symptoms of being ill and needs medication? take him to a vet IMMDEDIATELY!!

Muzzle him for the vet and get him looked at. Holding off might mean death.
Be responsible.

Alert your vet that the dog attacks when you bring him in TODAY. Vets are used to things like that.

A vet needs to see him. I would guess it is parvo. They can get it even with the vaccine.
