I don't know of any state that allows 13-year-olds to get jobs. Besides that, I think there would be an insurance risk if you were to get injured by one of the animals (or vice-versa). My son got his working papers as soon as he turned 14, but the pet stores in our area won't hire someone until they're 16.

you may desire to no longer get a ordinary paying job at 13, even although you will possibly gets a commission on an incredibly casual, constrained foundation. My suggestion in the present day may be to grant to volunteer. Animal shelters constantly want help. some shelters savour it if human beings will volunteer to stroll the canines. in case you volunteer at a guard, or a veterinary health facility, and have a stable checklist, you would be wanting a stable suggestion for procuring a ordinary paying job once you're older.

it really depends on the clinic and the work. you can do voluntary work on weekends cleaning kennels etc but prob not allowed to work behind the counter or making up medicines. voluntary work at the vets is a really good way to decide if veterinary is the career you want and will build a good relationship with the owners possibly getting you to work your way up as you get older and if you decide todo veterinary or nursing good references and possibly better job offers

I don't believe 13 year olds can work anywhere legally like for a paycheck with taxes taken out. Child labor laws and all

Legally, probably not. However, if you are extremely mature and responsible, it is highly likely that they will let you "shadow" the vets there. Just tell them you are mature, and you are interested in being a vet, but you want to see what it is like in a vet office. Then, ask if you can "shadow" for a week or so. I did it when I was just a bit younger than you. It was a valuable experience.

You have to be at least 16 with parental consent to volunteer at the shelter I help at. I believe it's 18 to help with my vet. You need to call around, but I think 13 is probably too young to do anything beyond delivering newspapers or flyers.

I don't know if they can work there full-time, but there's probably some sort of volunteer program you can join. Go to your local clinic and ask them for some information.

At the shelter here you have to be at least 14, and if you're under you need a parent's permission, and you also have to be like 18 because of certain liability causes.
