I want to get a Bull terrier but I don't know if they are good dogs. Even if you just have a website for me that would be of so much help. thanks.

as most of the peeps on here say its the owner that can make a dog and not the dog that is bad - but if you really want the dog the best place i can recommend is a dog finding website called - www.epupz.co.uk - where you can find any breed of dog anywhere in the uk
hope that helps

Why do you want one? These are not dogs for a novice owner. They are terriers-they are very headstrong dogs. You need to be well informed on the breed. Look them up on AKC-you can link to rescues from here. I would encourage you to contact a rescue and ask them questions. Start with "what is the number one reason they get dogs in". They will be glad to help you decide if this is the best dog for you.

My family showed Bull Terriers-they are great dogs when matched with the right person. They did run into issues with neighbors etc thinking they had pitt bulls. Sad but true. Good Luck-glad you are researching the breed first.

Bull Terriers are great dogs. but you need to do ALOT of research to make sure they are what you want. They are a lot of hardwork and can be very stubborn so you need to be really dedicated to training. They always need to know you're in charge otherwise you may end up with a dominant dog that may cause problems. Good websites to look on www.btca.com and also if you go through with it www.bin.org

Any dog has the potential to be a "bad" dog and i find it annoying that people still assume certain breeds are aggresive killers!! The english bull terrier is a affectionate, humourous dog who is espeicially good with children, they are loyall and devoted family dogs.If raised right from young i.e given the proper reward based training, early socilisation and love, then they make excellent family pets.I used to own a cross ebt and she was fantastic she loved children of all ages and was great with other dogs and cats,it's all about the way you raise them.Good luck.

How can you want a breed of dog you don't know anything about? This seems to be a bit backwards. Just type in the dog breed in google and you will get several websites to peruse. I would definitely check AKC's website. I would probably not spend much time on breeder's sites as they may not be as open to the "down" side of the breed. Also, call local veterinarian's offices.

My 1st dog was a staffordshire bull terrier and she was the best dog ever. Very obedient, low maintenance, fantastic with kids. They're not very sociable with other dogs unless socialised very often from the very beginning.

I highly recommend doing serious research into any breed you fancy. I jumped in and got my 2nd dog without knowing a thing about the breed and while I love her to death she is very high maintenance compared to what I was used to.

I think you should go to the site mentioned above, research the dogs, their behaviors, and their expenses, and then decide if it is the best idea for you to get a Bull terrier,

Bull terriers are good dogs with basic training. This breed of dog was bread to fight and hunt long ago. Some my be unpredicable. I would do reseach on the breed before you go and get one!

the first link shows how they score on temperament tests
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bull_Terrier

then a link for the breed club use the blue bar at the top of the page to learn more
http://www.btca.com/

If you decide on ensure to get from a reputable breeder despite what people say you can not make a good dog that was breed with poor temperament and that is why so manyu pitbulls are in trouble, you have every Tom, Dick and Harry breeding them that knows nothing about genetics or breeds for aggression.
