i live in california and there is a California Pets store by me. Here is the website and they say their dogs are purebreed and AKC. So does that mean they arent from puppy mills? What questions do I ask them about the dog so i know its not from the puppy mill. I dont want to get a puppy from a puppy mill... url below

Ok, I have a 3 month old Pom, and he is having this issues with the corners of the walls in my apartment... He is chewing the heck out of them to the point where the paint is coming off..
And also, I feel like he is not peeing on his pads anymore just to piss me off.

HELP PLEASE!!!
What can I do to get him to stop chewing and get him to start peeing again on his lil pads!

I have a 3yr old labrador who suffers dreadful itching and a red spotty rash, when she has been in contact with grass. The vet prescribes antihistamines, steroids and an anti-inflammatory injection but it only works for a short while. I try to keep her away from grass of any discription but it's not easy, we live in the countryside and she is a working breed, bred to retrieve in shoots(although we dont shoot) she adores being out in the fields, running around and sniffing out good smells. I feel so bad for her sometimes I would be grateful for any advise.

symbol? As far as I am concerned its a double standard to say its ok to breed pure dogs but not mutts... right now its not ok to breed ANY dogs because there arent enough homes for any of them. I love dogs, all dogs.. pure, mutt whatever. They are all beautiful to me, but I have a special place in my heart for mutts because I think they are more unique, one of a kind and I find it distasteful in the extreme to hear snobby people putting mutts down because they dont have a pedigree.. A dog is a dog, the love for them doesnt stop at a certain breeding or lack thereof.. in fact mutts ARE proven to be healthier and more long lived... I feel bad for dogs like the Pekingnese whos eyes are prone to popping out because of their breeding, or Shepherds whos backs are so sloped for "looks" that they are crippled by the time they are 5 yrs. So I ask, what do you think of mutts? and if you dislike them why?? what reason do you have..

I found a dog running down the middle of the road. I took the time to catch him and get him out of the traffic. I already have two dogs and I rent, so I took him to the animal shelter in the hopes that he had a family. Well after five days, no one claimed him and the shelter was going to try and place him in a new hom. Well, he tested heart worm positive. So I get a call saying that they couldn't keep him and I had to come get him by 4 today. Now, remember that this isn't my dog and I already have two... one of thoes two doesn't get on well with other dogs. So now I feel responsible for this dog. What are the costs for treating heartworm... and what are his chances. He seems lethargic, but he isnt' swelling at all. Hopefully that's a good sign.

I've heard it said that when you neuter males dogs, it tends to calm them down. Is the same true for females?

Ten pet peeves dogs have against humans...

1. Blaming your farts on me...
Not funny... Not funny at all !!!

2. Yelling at me for barking..
I'M A FRIGGEN DOG, YOU IDIOT!

3. Taking me for a walk, then not letting me check stuff out.
Exactly whose walk is this anyway?

4. Any trick that involves balancing food on my nose...
Stop it!

5. Any haircut that involves bows or ribbons.
Now you know why we chew your stuff up when you're not home.

6. The sleight of hand, fake fetch throw. You fooled a dog! Whoooo Hoooooooo!
What a proud moment for the top of the food chain.

7. Taking me to the vet for "the big snip",
Then acting surprised when I freak out every time we go back!

8. Getting upset when I sniff the crotches of your guests.
Sorry, but I haven't quite mastered that handshake.

9.Dog sweaters.
Hello ???, Haven't you noticed the fur?

10. How you act disgusted when I lick myself...
Look, we both know the truth, you're just jealous.

I've heard both sides of the story - and in fact, my dog food contains Garlic - so why would it be bad?

What is your opinion?
