He is crate trained and everything. in the last few weeks he has started to wake up 2-3 times a night to go out to the bathroom. Sometimes he just crys or digs in his crate just to get out! and recently every time night we've had a storm. He runs around the house panting and shaking, straching at doors, crawling underbeds, peeing on the floor-but the back door where he would go to the bathroom-.
Usually he is really well mannered and doesn't crawl under things and use the house as a tiolet...

Why does he freak out everytime the weather changes?
And is there anything I can do to calm him? It makes me really sad when he starts to cry, everytime there is thunder.

I have to decide because hers are getting worse. I hate seeing her suffer. If it comes to it I may have to let her go. She is a part of the family, but I can't bare her suffering like this. What is your oppinion?

My yorkie is one year old now and only weighs 1 pound and 8 ounces. She is 5 inches tall and 6 inches long. Its strange to have such a teeny dog. She is the love of my life, but I've never met anyone else with so small a dog and I'd like to meet other people who know what it's like. : )

He is teething right now but wants to chew away at my cement step outside and also a terra cotta pot that has a plant in it...he leaves the plant alone and chews on the outside of the pot. He will also lick dirt...but it seems to be a sandy dirt that he favours!!..He is on vet approved homemade food with an added supplement of vitamins and minerals (supplied by the vet) Anyone have any ideas why he might do this?

When a dog pees on the bed what are they trying to demonstrate? Dominance, separation anxiety, or something else?

We have purchased a puppy (8 wk old black male lab X) from a pet rescue site and become quite attached though are yet to pick him up, and he has come down with Parvo. He is apparently doing really well, what are his chances of living into a healthy, robust adulthood? We want to save him only I am a little concerned he might be sickly for his whole life. Will he be contagious for long? Does anyone have advice?

I have a male and a female dog (neutered and spayed). Each time the female urinates the male immediately urinates on top of where she did (understandable...normal dog behavior). What I don't understand is why he licks the grass where she urinated before he marks his spot on top of hers.

Anyone else have a dog that does this? Any ideas as to why he does this?

I have a 6 month old male pomeranian...he has been COMPLETELY potty trained for a month now.
However, lately, despite the fact that Ive been taking him outside to go potty more frequently...he has been peeing in the house a great deal. Hes peed on the couch several times now, and right in front of us. Just today he jumped up on the couch, peed, and jumped off. It is SO unlike him to act like this and I'm really starting to lose my patience.

He's been recently been neutered...which was when this started happening...but I dont see how being neutered could be a cause, unless there is something im unaware of.
Secondly, weve just got a new puppy...I may think that hes acting out like this due to jealousy if it werent for the fact that he loves the new puppy and they play together VERY well. They dont fight and he doesnt act jealous or upset by her.

Im basically wondering what the cause for this could be....and what I should do about it.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I have three dogs. The first I got 6 years ago, another one just a year ago and another just a few months ago. The second dog we got from a puppy mill and couldn't stand to leave her there. 4 months after we got her, I had a baby and now she does not listen to a thing I say. She's intolerable and we are losing patience with her. The third dog was adopted from the humane society. He was a sweetheart and a good dog from day 1, but now is starting to pick up bad habits from the second dog. Dog 2 barks all the time and now so does Dog 3. My baby is now crawling everywhere and I have my hands full - not so much with the baby, but with the dogs. We love them so much and enjoy spending time with them and feel guilty about getting rid of the last two because of their recent bad habits since the baby arrived. They are good with the baby and he (now 10 months) enjoys them greatly. Should we get rid of them or try extensive training? Our hearts are breaking!!

For a couple of years, my 7 year old dachshund has been limping because of his back right leg. I have asked my mom multiple times to take him to the vet, but she always has an excuse. She spoils herself all the time, and she just bought a basically new Acura, and navigation system. She is extremely self- centered and cares about spoiling herself more than our dog who is in constant pain. Our dog is also a little aggressive, so I don't think a dachshund rescue will take him. Today, my mother picked him up and threw him on the ground, causing him to limp more extremely, and its really hard for me to witness how she treats our own pet. He is our only dog, so more than half the day he is alone in the backyard and neglected. I play with him and pet him when I can, but I get busy, and I know he has a bad life, but I don't know if I can bear it if we get him killed by the vet. I don't erally have any options, but what should I do?

I have a 3 month old darling westie puppy. She pees quite often and I am beginning to worry. The vet said for me to give her 1 ounce of water per her weight.

I am concerned because of the kidney problems caused by some dog foods. My puppy eats Eukanaba dry lamb and rice puppy food.

Is there something out there that one would recommend that would be safer?
