Get him some of those rawhide chewbones or strips. If that doesn't stop him, have your vet check him out.

The problem with home-made foods is that it *sounds* okay, but unless you were to give every single ingredient that's in it, then no-one knows what nutrients you're actually supplying. Are you cooking meats, for example? How does he get his calcium/phosphorous/magnesium? If meat only do you add a calcium supplement to this? Home cooking is fine if you know what you're doing......and what the pup requires. Vet approved or not, there could be lots of essential nutrients and vitamins missing. Adding vits and minerals doesn't really help, because you don't know what's missing in the first place! (You could be doubling up on what he already has.) I feed a raw diet, and follow the criteria of 60% Raw Meaty Bones (like chicken wings) and the other 40% consists of some offal (liver, heart, kidney) and other meats (lamb, beef, tripe, etc.). On top of that my dogs (and especially a puppy) get a marrow bone to knaw on. Great for teeth cleaning, and for keeping them occupied, and for getting the correct balance of calcium and phosphorous.....and everything else. If you want to know more about raw feeding (which is easy and cheap) please feel free to mail me. At the very least, I would be giving this pup a marrow bone to knaw on.

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/zkYaQ
If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.
It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

Give him lots of different toys and chews...rotate them. They make toys you can wet and freeze...they feel good on their gums. I've used a frozen wash cloth even....but I stayed right there so the pup didn't eat it.
Teach the puppy now, what is ok to chew on and what is not ok. Stop him from chewing on the pot.
Google puppy training, teething, etc.

reason he's licking the grounds and eating pots.. is because 1 he's got a calcium defencieny 2 salt. animals lick the ground because of the salt thats in it.. along with other minerals
you should be careful about him eating cement and pots though.. that stuff can get their tummy's clogged up.. and the only way to remove it is surgery. lots of dogs eat rocks.. which is BAD BAD BAD
dogs eat all KINDS of things.. keys.. rocks.. shoestrings.. baby doll shoes.. and clothes.. razorblades.. asprin.. uhm.. the list goes on and on.. so just kinda watch what hes eating so you dont run the risk of costly vet bills in the future.

Dogs love chewing anything hard...My dog still does that and she's 8 years old. The vet actually approves of her chewing rocks and other hard things because it strengthens their teeth and jaw. Just make sure they don't swallow anything!!
