ok i was looking through sme of my old answeres and came across an answere on a page. It was "
They are the product of cowhide after it has been boiled and bleached. You must limit your dog's ingestion of these products as they are not easily digestible and can build-up/clog his/her intestines. One rawhide a week is safe. If you happen to have a pitbull, feed it lots, the world needs less of them. " I personally own a pitbull, i was told he was a mix and looked like a pit. (he is in my pic window) but found out he was a pit at the vets office. I dont understand how people can say PITs are bad dogs, first off my pitty is a good boy, lovable and a big baby. I honestly think people should realize that any dog can be mean and agressive, if you dont treat them right. . Dont punish the breed punish the deed. How many of you think that is unfair to sterotype a dog becuase of a few people that have abused, and teached thier dog to fight, to be agressive? I dont agree at all with this.

I live in a suburban neighborhood that is next to a major highway, but I can hear coyotes howling at night. My fence is only a 4ft chain link fence. Does anyone know how I can protect my dogs?

I'd never really thought about it, but I saw that there were several coyote attacks in a nearby town. What, if anything, can I do to protect them within reason? I mean, I'm sure I could build a 10ft tall fence with a lid to keep them out, but I'm looking for something I can actually afford to do, short of forcing my dogs to stay inside all day. I've got three dogs, ranging from 20-35lbs. Is there safety in numbers? Is there such thing as a coyote-repellant?

When answering, please specify if you have official knowledge or if you're brainstorming. Thanks!

I have a five- year old Australian Cattle Dog who is active and healthy. He has always had a black, moist nose but, lately, the tip of his nose has become sort of brown and crusty. It doesn't seem to be causing him any pain but it appears abnormal. Any ideas?

he has a rather large lump between his ears, and for his age(about six weeks)he has big paws, short floppy ears, sleeps alot(which is expected from puppies), and he has one big black spot on his toungue. He also has quite some axcess hide. So i'm kind of confused on what he could be.

I have a 3 year old chocolate lab named Oliver (he's on the picture). We recently moved to a bigger place and decided to get a second puppy, another chocolate lab we named Wellington.

They get along great and everything seems to be going well, except that Wellington is having trouble with the potty training.

We walk them twice a day and they get access to our backyard about 6 more times a day. But as soon as we step out of the house, Wellington pisses and pooes everywhere.

We decided to get a crate, but are wondering what's going to happen when Wellington is put in the cage and Oliver is left outside....

So, is there anything I need to keep in mind when crate training a second puppy??

My 11 month old dachshund, started, hacking after eating and drinking. Then that stopped and she would dry heave. Then a few days later vomited bile. Went to vet many times. Did x-rays, (showed swollen stomach lining nothing else) Said was gastritis. blood tests, perfect. Changed food to I/D and was on antibiotics as precaution, then pepcid (for dogs) and something to coat intestines. Went away. Then was spayed 2 weeks ago. All okay. Now she started the little cough again. (sounds like she is clearing throat) She was on multi-advantage and now revolution and her stool tested in December. Don't think its worms. I live in Canada, very cold in winter, no mosquitos for past 7 months. She eats well, has tons of energy, poop is fine, everything. One vet said it was bad gastritis, the second opinion was the one that changed her food and gave her meds for tummy.I don't know what else to do. She will have her ball in mouth, and do a little cough/gag. Sometimes, just when doing nothing. any idea

My dog has recurrent ear infections, I cant afford to take him to an allergist(ridiculous) so now my vet wont prescribe more meds until I take him AGAIN to see her so she can charge me 100 dollars plus to tell me what we both know.HE HAS ANOTHER EAR INFECTION!!
Sooo I have some left over amoxicillin and was thinking........maybe it could work without my money hungry vet being involved.

My puppy is 5 months old and has been with my family for 3 months. She is great with my kids, who are as young as 2, but takes weeks to warm up to other people, and is fearful and bites if they try to touch her. I am concerned about this because I take her with me when I am visiting friends, but she will try to bite them even in their house. Getting rid of her will only be a very last resort, as she is a part of our family already. How do I stop this behavior before it's too late?
