I have a 2 yr old female Bullmastiff who urinates in the house everytime I leave. I take her out before I leave, (max 4 hrs) she goes, and right when I get back, and she goes again. I usually find the urine spot much later so I can't reprimand her for it. She can hold it all night no problem. Any suggestions? Should I start crating her again?

Just throwing this out there. When you are at park or out walking/driving (magnetic sign on van) in town and someone asks how much your puppies sell for, what do you say?

I ask this meaning when you know for sure person asking just because curious, such as living in small town, you know just about everyone, children's friends' mom, or even the friends themselves or an acquaintance. Someone walking a puppy of their own.

I feel this similar to asking how much you make at your job. I have friend of 9 years that is a horse breeder and I still don't know how much she gets, wouldn't ask unless I wanted to buy.

Again, curious as to what other breeders say to the curious ones.

I'm asking established breeders who have established, proven bloodlines.

It is obvious that everyone here that answers a question and puts down ' I'm A vet ' isn't actually a vet. If you check the other questions they ask, and the advice some of them give.. It is very apparent.

I don't know about legality, but am sure that it's illegal somewhere to say you are a vet and give advice and you aren't actually a vet.. You give people a false sense of security by saying you are a vet.. Most questions shouldn't be asked here anyhow, they should be asked of a vet.. If you are NOT a vet please don't say you are..
People are taking these answers as gospel and if you aren't really a vet, you shouldn't give that impression.

Ok, so here is the actual question...
Is it Illegal or just morally wrong to pose as a vet and give answers to questions claiming to be a vet?

I'll be honest, There are some here that most definately are vets.. But there are a couple that give answers that .. Well let's just say I have read better answers posted by an 8 year old..

Why do people find it acceptable to to kiss a dog on its mouth?? Don't people watch where their mouths go??? Put it this way would you pucker up to a person who had just finished licking their own behind or sniffed around another persons bottom??!?!?!?!?

Everytime I walk my dog or bring him to the park people act like I have a loaded gun pointed at them, they can't get away fast enough. I have the sweetest, well socialized rottweiler who loves every animal he has ever met. I was walking my dog the other day and my neighbors pug was running loose and the pug ran up to my leashed rottweiler and they were playing so nicely together. The neighbor comes running over and I say "He is a very friendly dog, he gets along great with little dogs." and the neighbor says "Yeah well he doesn't look it." He picked up his pug and tied it to a tree.

It hurts my feelings that people don't trust me when I say he is very friendly.

Has anyone had a experience with this? How would you handle it?

Grr, Thanks for letting me vent my frustrations!

Our neighbour's dog barks continuesly if we make a move in our kitchen or come out onto our little yard. (the dog has a very large yard to himself, and kids who play with him cheerfully) Would it be cruel to ask the pet owner to use an anti bark ring for a while? (if not clear; I mean a kind of ring that gives a little sting when the dog barks, innocent and temporary and only when he is outside)

She's never had any before and we just moved to a new house with new environmental concerns -- magnolia petals dropping, possible lead paint, cleaning products, etc. I also found a chewed turtle shell in the backyard. We're cleaning it up for her, but we have two dogs and the other is unaffected. Could it be a poison or stress? Anyone else ever had this issue? I don't want to keep her on phenyl barbitol for no reason. Thanks!

Hi all,

I've been wondering how necessary Heartguard and FrontLine are for dogs. I have always put my dogs on these medications when spring came around but at the moment, I have a sick dog and all of my money is going towards his treatments and I don't have an extra $400 lying around to get them tested for heartworm and get the meds.

I don't ever remember my parents using products like these on my childhood pets and they were never ill or had fleas/ticks and they lived in a heavily wooded area. I live in the city and go to the city park with my dogs which is a wooded area. I asked my vet and he said that they should be on them without a doubt but my vet doesn't care about my growing mountain of debt that I have with one of my dogs. Can I get away with not giving them these products for one summer or is it absolutely necessary for them?

I am going to be moving to a bigger house in the next 2 years tops, and so I am considering withdrawing my decision to get my 7 month old boston terrier fixed. I have beautiful pup who is brindal with perfect markings, and I know if I get her AKC registered, I can get at least 1K a piece out of her pups (minus expenses). I also think it would be fun to breed puppies. Since it is my daughters dog (she is 6), I thought it would be good to put back whatever money gets made for her. I would like tips on breeding for the 1st time. Also, any idea on how much I will be able to pocket (per pup) after obvious vet and care expenses? Thanks.

My dog must have a pollen allergy because he sneezes after coming back inside. If you have experienced this with you dog and treated at home with success please inform what you used. I know you can give Benedryl tabs, but what about Claritin, etc.? Even open to homepathic remedies.

My pup was flown in from Ohio to Reno Nevada on March 30th and two or three days later I complained that my yorkie had a cough that wasn't normal. This dog was sold to me buy a broker who sells dogs for breeders which wasn't great, however he told me he didn't have it when he left which I thought was garbage. I research kennel cough and everything alike. My dog on the 10th day of being home started coughing worse and couldn't breath. I took him to the vet and because he seemed to be somewhat active I was given Clavamox. It didn't seem to help and a few weeks later it the coughing came back stronger. Again and again the seller told me he's fine. My dog is coughing like a goose, coughs when he is excited or eats, all the same symptoms of a collapsed tracheal issue which is genetic. I've already spent $100 at the vets for just Clavamox. The x-ray will cost $135 if I take him in this week, plus vet fee. My question is if he does have this issue how can I go after the seller and breeder?
