Why do people find it acceptable to to kiss a dog on its mouth?? Don't people watch where their mouths go??? Put it this way would you pucker up to a person who had just finished licking their own behind or sniffed around another persons bottom??!?!?!?!?

I know what you mean. The saying "a dog's mouth is cleaner than ours" is just a myth. A dog's body is designed to be strong and eat crap, ours is not. Dogs eat poop and whatever else they find on the ground, they lick their own butt and the butts of other dogs and they barf and eat it again. I never let my dogs lick me on the face.

Do all you people love your dogs less then anyone else? Why not kiss them? How many times has anyone of you kissed someone not knowing where their mouth has been? Even after some wild oral sex would you not kiss your partner? Or is it that all the dog people out there do not have another life?
I'll let my dogs kiss me any time they want.
Just as a side note I have done it all, I mean my dogs kiss me all the time. Maybe some of the others.

There mouths are cleaner than humans even after licking and eating everything that they do. Human mouths have over 100 million bacteria in them at one time. That's pretty dirty. Might consider that before you kiss your mom, dad, kid, or significant other next time! Your mouth is dirtier than your butt. I see nothing wrong with kissing my puppies just as I see nothing wrong with kissing my boyfriend even though I know there is more bacteria in my boyfriends mouth than my puppies. Your body needs germs to stay healthy. If you eliminate all bacteria from your life you will be sick all the time. If you can't kiss your dog, you better not touch door handles, pins that other people use, knobs to flush toilets, oh and, don't EVER get a soda from a fast food restaurant because it has been tested and proven that their toilet water is cleaner that the ice they will put in your soda!

If you love your pet "no holds barred". Yes I know where there mouths go, but wouldn't you kiss your own child in the same sense. They are innocent and shouldn't be though of that way. I own 3 dogs and love them all the same. No matter where they put their mouths. I'm not sucking their tongues. Dogs are people too. And do you know where that person put his mouth before you kissed him? You can't expect to know his every whereabouts.

Do people find it acceptable to kiss a dog on the mouth?

I've owned dogs for years and have many friends and acquaintances who are dog owners and dog enthusiasts but I can't think of one who would kiss their dog on its mouth.

Incidentally I've just answered a question about dogs eating dog faeces which is very common canine behaviour and second only to them eating cat faeces.

As much as I LOVE them, I try not to let our dachshunds kiss me on the mouth, but they are so rambuntious, things happen...When I kiss THEM, it's not on the mouth either, I just kiss them on the side of their muzzle, that's close enough!

My dogs is time-honored with my sons call. I ask her to discover Oskar and she runs to him. that is probable because he's only a infant and that i'm continually announcing his call, and were at homestead dissimilar the day so she's listening to me call his call lots :)
