Here's one site I found talking about Claritin for dogs : http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&A=2114
My dog has allergies too, but even half of one benedryl makes her so sleepy and lethargic that I don't give them to her unless she seems really miserable. Something that helps with her is a bath nearly once a week, just to get some of the allergens out of her fur.

First of all giving animals raw meat is not a good idea as of the parasites that are in some ' but always cooking meat thoroughly kills bacterias and organism like that..I have a tea cup pom and he has allergies bad as well and his sneezes and his chest wheezing breaks my heart.I took him to a vet and 140.00 later he stills needs some allergies medications.Good Luck to you both.

You cannot buy medicine for your pet without a vets advice.
You don't know for sure this is allergies - and even if you did you need professional advice for what medicine to use, not Yahoo advice!
And even if you know which medicine to use, you need to ask a vet for the dose rate, which none can give without examining the dog!
At least RING your vet and ask them this question. It is true that self-diagnosis and self-medication can be pointless at best, and dangerous at most.

I don't like to use drugs on my dog or myself. One builds up an immunity to the drugs and then after taking more and more they stop responding at all. I know this may sound silly but it works. Get a doctors mask from a medical supply store and place the mask on your dog when he is outside. Remove the mask when he comes inside. The mask is a great filter and no pills are needed. The Japanese use these masks during cold and flu time when they travel and walk the streets. A dog wearing a doctor's mask? Who cares as long as it works. I sleep with one every night.

Dogs don't sneeze from allergies, they get itchy skin. The sneezing is probably from dust. Other than making your dog wear a mask outside there's not alot you can do. If you dog really has an allergy, the vet can tell you the proper dose of benedryl, but research suggests they do not get the "hay fever" type symptoms people get.

Even with over the counter you still need to seek advise from your vet. Dosage can be vary depends on your dogs condition. No one can give you advise on line even a vet who's on line answering your question.

my pit suffers from allergies, and the vet recommended benadryl, and it works great, every spring it keeps him from being so miserable with them, he is 50lbs and i give him 1 tab and thats works, although the vet said i can give him 2 tabs i prefer not to.
