I have a 2 yr old female Bullmastiff who urinates in the house everytime I leave. I take her out before I leave, (max 4 hrs) she goes, and right when I get back, and she goes again. I usually find the urine spot much later so I can't reprimand her for it. She can hold it all night no problem. Any suggestions? Should I start crating her again?

feed her before you take her out and they only need one cup of food daily ...if you take her out two or more times a day ..don't feed them after she had been walked and done her business ...because then yes you will have a mess when you get home .don't leave her any food when you leave ..because you have already fed her before she walked feed her wait 20 min then take her for that walk and wait till she does it then go home and take the food and put it away she does not need to finish it yet ..wait till you come back home after you have gone for some hours and come home and feed her what she did not finish and when she finishes her food and water take the dog out and do this over and over in a routine always and you will not deal with the messes OK.

some dogs toilet when owners leave to get rid of tension - my dog does it as she has separation anxiety. I have her closed into 1 room and newspaper when I am out. I also ignore her if she has done it wrong and praise if she does it in the right area. Crate training is very useful with my dog - it may be worth it. Or train the dog to toilet in a special area.

I would start crating her again while youre gone. Sometimes dogs can be spiteful and she may learn that youre doing this because shes potting inside. They are smarter than most people think.
