I live in the SE America, and have another mixed dog that is about 21-23 inches at withers and weighs about 70 lbs. My family and I want another dog but my dad wants a smaller dog than we have but I want a dog that is the same size or just a little bigger. My dad thinks that rottweilers and german shephers are bad because of their bad publicity. He is also worried about the husky because we do live in a warmer area... I think the high sometimes can reach 95 degrees. The husky would be left inside unless it had to use the restroom and would have fresh, cold water always available. Any of the dogs i mentioned sound like fair dogs to me. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME THE REGULAR GOLDEN OR LABRADOR RETRIEVER!!

I would jog with or run with the dog daily around my block which is like 1.2 miles or so...

Well it's totally up to you which one you'll choose.I personally wouldn't go for the Husky, cause I think it's sad for the dog when it's really warm outside, they do come from very cold lands and you can see them suffer when the temp is too high,I live in Greece where the Huskies are really popular but you see them suffer during the summer, and I would never do that to a dog, even though I think they are one of the most beautiful breeds ever!I personally would go for the Rottweiler,i use to have a very bad opinion about the dog, just like your dad, thought they were aggressive dogs who would bite and bark at everything that they didn't know. But being a vet student myself, and having worked in the clinics of my university for two years now I have met a large number of rottweilers, and I can honestly say:I couldn't have been more wrong. They are great dogs, very loving, listen good and very protective of the people they love.I haven't seen them in the company of children but from what I've heard or read they are great with children too.I definitely consider owning a rottweiler someday. But all the dogs you mention are great,I mean, what dog breed isn't.The main thing is to give them love and good care, and most importantly with big dogs like you mention, good training,so they listen good to what you say. That way they are safe for you and others!

It is up to you, the Siberian Husky is a great house dog. It does shed twice a year, their hair comes out in clumps. It will have to be brushed everyday while shedding. The boxer also can live indoors okay. They shed a little everyday. Good companion. Rottweilers get to be 130 lbs or so and don't know that they are big. At least the ones I know. I would go with the boxer myself. All of these breeds you've listed need lots of exercise and room to run.

I get the impression you want a dog based on its appearance, because the breeds listed are radically different in temperments. I love rottweilers and german shepherds, but would likely not own one because they are problemic in terms of insurance. They have had a lot of bad publicity...and face it, you will never see "collie attacks neighborhood child"., and anytime your rottweiler or shepherd looks crosseyed at someone...it was threatening

The husky is notorious for being an escape artist & run-aholic. I own a dog with a husky-like coat, as well as live in New Orleans, so I know how much a heavy coated dog suffers in the heat.

Boxers also don't do well in temperature extremes, but they are wonderful dogs. Years ago, I owned one, who made it to the top dog list. She was great with kids, a great watch dog, and a good all around dog.

well rots and sheps are good dogs that tend to need really strong leaders-they aren't bad dogs but they need an owner with alot experience in proper and hard-core training; they need LOTS of structure otherwise...well the otherwise it all ends up looking like those dogs gone wild tapes on tv!
Huskies are good dogs and they can live in warmer climates but not a good "inside"dog they are sled runners and do best in LARGE out door runs or kennels (our husky had a kennel larger than a two car garage with a butt load of toys and he still needed to run in the pasture twice a day otherwise he would bark all night)
I don't know much about boxers...
hope this helps...

None of the above. I buy only pure bred dogs from reputable breeders. I rescue Rottweilers who've been dumped in the shelters by dead beat owners. I would not put money in the hands of a scumbag back yard breeder who cross breeds dogs. BTW the dogs you mention are not hybrids, they're cross bred dogs. Hybrids are a cross between different species. Dogs are the same species.

the breed has nothing to do with aggretion the owner does. Also if the neighbors tease the dog any dog will get aggressive. No manner which dog socialize the dog.

Boxers are smart, short haired dogs.

I have a jack russel-pittbull mix that is a housedog with 2 kids and a cat and she does great.
