I dont live at home anymore, but my mum called and told me my dog has been coughing for the pass two weeks, she only does it occaisionally both during the day and night. It sounds like she is trying to bring up something. However she's eating as normal and doesnt shy away when i feel or look in her throat (She is usually sensitive when anything is bothering her) She seems perfectly healthy and happy except for the cough. Any advice????

As everyone has rightly said, the dog does need to go to the vets.

Not leaving the yard (apart from being questionable dog care) doesn't mean she can't catch any illnesses. Heartworm is caught through the bites of mosquitoes, lungworm can be picked up from the ground. Coughing can also be a sign of heart trouble, so get the dog checked out.

It could be a number of things. Upper respiratory infection will cause coughing, Heart worm diesase will cause coughing Heart problems can cause coughing. Certain cancers... lots of things. She needs to see a vet for a definitive diagnosis. This could be something minor or something life threatening.
