I rescued a lab puppy (female), who is now about 10 months old. I haven't had her spayed yet, but I keep her in a fenced yard with only my other desexed dogs. Now my Jack Russell won't leave her alone.

So my fiance tries to sneak people food to our dogs and I always tell him not to. Do you have any good reasons I should tell him to make him stop or is a little people food not bad for our doggies? Btw, one is 3 years old Jack Russell/ Chi mix about 9lbs. The other is 6 months Black Lab/Jack Russell Mix about 20 lbs, I'm more concerned about her because he doesn't usually feed the smaller one since she's mine. I just think she should get good food since she's still a pup and needs a good diet! Am I being over cautious? Thanks!

lately, i've been having problems with getting my dog to come to me when called. if he doesnt come, i dont get angry at him i just approach him slowly and casually to get him but then he suddenly runs away watching me from the corner of his eye. i was furious because he always came when called at home and suddenly he decided to ignore me. then, i would try luring him with treats but he doesnt come either. i javent tried using his favourite toy but do you think it would work?
what did you used to do when your dog didnt come when you called him? how did you solve it?

thanks
i'm in desperete need of some help

Hi everyone and thanks to the responses that I have gotten about the abandoned 4 week old puppies that I rescued! I now have another question. I have been feeding them puppy food mushed up with water and giveing them puppy formula also. I have been giveing them the mush about 3 times a day and the formula with it because they won't take a bottle or syringe of any sorts but will lick it out of a bowl. I know when it comes to diarrhea you should give more water. Should I cut back on the mush food feedings? I am not sure what to do. How many times should they be getting the formula and mush a day? I have had them since Monday and they were just sleeping and eating every once in a while for a couple of days and now today they have been very active wakeing up about every couple hours to play and want to eat. I feel like if I feed them every time they want to eat they will be overfed. I have gotten many different answers to the feeding questions. I need more feedback please! Diarhea problem?

Today I found numerous amounts of fleas on my dogs stomach. He had a flea collar on. I took it off and gave him a flea bath. Should I put it back on him to protect him from getting more fleas? Does the bath prevent him from more fleas getting on him?

I live in a one bed room and apartment. The thing is i want to get a German Shepard puppie. Would this be an acceptable amount of space for the dog? Also i dont have a problem taking the dog out to parks, etc so that it gets exercise, etc. It would however spend the time that im at work alone in the apartment (2-10pm). Are these ideal living conditions for the dog?

My 4 mo old border collie mix (male) seems to gag/choke when he barks. Not always, but a good bit of the time...any ideas? It does not seem to matter if he has just eaten or drank or if he has not.

Both dogs are right at seven months old. The pit is super sweet, but the Jack is really gritty. They are both females, and neither of them show aggression towards humans. The Jack is indoors and the pit is outdoors. The Jack keeps going into the Pit's pin and messing with her. I'm on a rented property so I can't build anything different. Do you guys have any ideas on how to socialize them better?

She likes to play like most dogs and puppies I have seen. But there are sometimes when she growls and barks at you when you are doing nothing. And if you say no ally to her, she just keeps doing this. I have a 3 year old brother and I am afraid she would get carried away. She likes to bite things, and I know as a puppy, thats what they do, but its to aggressive and I wanted to make sure that its not just me being worried. I want to know if this is normal and if its not what should I do.

just looking for some ideas

I brush and comb her thoroughly every day at home because her coat is changing from a puppy to an adult coat, and she mats more easily. She was easy to groom as a puppy, but now she bites and growls at me and the groomer. She is especially aggressive when grooming her legs, as that is where the worst mats have been. The groomer is patient with her, so I know that there is no abuse or mistreatment. Her personality is still loving, playful, and fun in all other areas. I don't know if she'll "grow out" of this once her coat's changed and the frequent matting stops. I just don't want to do anything to make it worse! Thanks.

My dog, a terrier/pomerian mix, happens to REALLY like whipped cream. [( I just fed her the TINIEST little bit off of my little finger a moment ago )]

I was just wondering if a lot would do a lot of damage?

I was asking because I was thinking I could give her a little bit every once in a while as a treat, since she seems to like it so much. We do feed her pieces of bacon, hamburger, sausage, and chicken as well, but since meat and whipped cream are totally different, I wasn't sure if feeding her more than a small smidgen of whipped cream would do much harm or not.
