It's definitely a dominance issue, but you probably already have that one figured out. :) I had this problem too when I had two dogs.
My guess is that the Jack thinks she's the queen of her universe because she's allowed everywhere you are. She might see you as her master or she might think she's yours. Either way, she definitely believes she's above the poor pit bull!
On "It's Me or The Dog!", the trainer emphasized treating the dogs as equal status. Both dogs should sleep away from you, but together... maybe you could crate them both seperately and indoors at night? If the Jack is sharing your bed with you while the pit sleeps outside, there's an obvious ranking to the dogs.
I don't know what to suggest other than they both be indoor dogs or both be outdoor dogs... I know that's tough with a small breed, but there's got to be a creative solution.
Good luck!

Spaying may help but the truth is that your dogs are trying to determine which one is lead dog. Dogs are pack animals and the pack has a leader. Even if it is only a pack of two. Socializing is a very good Idea. Take them to the park, have them play with other dogs, anything like that. Have kids give them treats and pet them. Chances are the jack can't hurt the pit. Let them play together and determine which one is the leader. Which ever they decide make sure they both know you are the true leader of the pack.

OK i think that whats happening is that your jack, thinks that because she is the indoor dog she is inferior to the pit, what i would do, and Ive done this before, is put the jack outside for a while, and make the pit the house dog. perhaps 1 week should do the trick. the jack already has the more dominant trait, so by making her the house dog you are encouraging it. good luck and i hope this works

I have an idea but I'mnot saying it's deffinatley the reason. The Jack Russel bing inside is with you the most. she feels that she needs to get hat big nast one outside awayform you.
I would suggest dog obediance and when you are outside when youre near the Pitts cage if teh jack is being good praise her when the jack goes outside she should be on a leash when she is behaiving praise her when seh is going "crazy" to get to the pitt scold her with a harsh NO.
but make sure you praise her as soon as she calms down.
Good Luck and be patient

By having the pit outside, you have ejected him from the pack. Your terrier is seeing the pit as an intruder on the pack and is acting accordingly. You could crate train the pit and bring him into the home which may help.

Get them both spayed.. And have them around one another.. If you have one locked up and one running free.. What do you think the prisoner is going to think about the little JRT that is acting like she owns the world and is running free..
OR don't let the JRT out where she can harass the pit.
Correct her when she bugs the pit.

Do you ever let your pit out of his cage? If so leash train them together and take them for walks. I agree.... get on to the jrt when bothering the pit and if not spayed you should spay them both. If you can training classes would socialize them also. GL

you should research the dogs you have, act responsibly towards your seven month female family members. all women want and should be the head of household and they are fighting for that. Problem is, the jack russell will keep her fight where it belongs but the other dog probably won't
good luck, i'm certain they are both beautiful dogs
