That depends on the breed, it's bloodline and it's health.
Most females cycle every 6 months. Which is why most pet owners cannot deal with keeping their females safe from accidental litters and should spay them.
Whippets for example may not come into season till they are over a year old and some only come in season once a year. They are a more natural or primitive breed.

Most dogs come in about every 6 months this is a genral rule however some may come in more often or later. they also sometimes come into a dry heat which means they dont' show any signs. i had one dog that came into heat about every 7 1/2 months so one year she would have 1 heat and the next year she would have 2.
It depends but as I said the normal is every 6 months
If you aren't; planning on breeding you should have her spayed .
I don't mean to be nasty but if you plan on breeding and asking this question please really investigate everything that is involved with breeding.
Such as Laws in your area, how many pups your breed might have, diseases and gentic faults that should be tested for and everyting else. Please dont be a careless backyard breeder.

Dogs are diestrus wich means that they have a cycle 2 times a year about every six months. Good Luck

It's a bit different with ever dog. Some once a year, others twice a year or anywhere in between.

I have two bitches and one comes into season every 6mths the other only 1 a year

On the average every 6 months.
As a rule of thumb on the day of the last show I count forward 6 months and it is here.

It depends on what breed of dog you have.... I have Pekingese and they come into season like twice a year...... my aunt has chihuahuas and they come into season about three times a year so it depends really.... but on average they come into season about twice a year....
