dobiegang posted a question yesterday about euthanasia because she will have to put her beloved pet to sleep soon and, naturally, it hurts. I was moved to tears by the wonderful responses she got and by remembering my own wonderful pets waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for me. How did YOU cope with losing a beloved pet?

We do want to have 1 litter when she is old enough but she's far too young at the moment. One option is to send our dog to my brother for a couple of weeks, not ideal as we'd miss him. She has just had her first show so we do have {hopefully} a week maybe before the situation is urgent. Any idea's gratefully recieved.

my boyfriend and i were getting ready to leave.we opened the front door, i forgot my money so we went back for like 10 seconds. We walked back tinto my living room and i saw the dogs got out in the front yard so i opened the door and they came right in the house.i cked the door and left. we were walking to my car the man next door was yelling at us.he said that my 2 dogs dragged his wife off their porch, and the neighbors saw it happen. we argued for a minute he told us that his wife called the police.the neighbors said they watched, they said my dogs didnt show any agression, didnt get on the pourch, her golden retriver dragged her off the pourch, and my dogs were smelling her dog. we told the man what they said, but then he said my dog bit her. she was nowhere to be found. the cops wrote a dog bite report and didnt even ask the neighbors about what happened. the women next door had two red spots on her knuckles it looked like she scraped her hand on the concrete. any suggestions??

I have a friend that bought herself 2 puppies from the newspaper. The seller called today saying she wants them back because she sold them at the wrong price. Its already been almost a month since my friend bought them. The seller is harrassing my friend saying she is going to the house and taking the dogs back or my friend can give her $160 more and keep them. Can she take the dogs back if my friend doesnt give her more money? The seller didnt have them registered or anything she was just selling puppies her dog had.

I have a boxer, just under 7 mos old. He LOVES the dog park, and he loves to play. The problem is, the other dogs (with the exception of the other boxers) don't appreciate his playing style. He wants to be chased, he jumps around in front of them, and sometimes he nips a little around the other dogs mouths. He also uses those boxer paws from time to time and bats at the other dogs. To him, its all in good fun.

Last night, his fun came back to bite him...literally. A great dane just got annoyed, pinned him down and was biting him. He was crying, mouth was bleeding, etc. He's totally fine, thankfully.

How can i work with him to make sure he's not so annoying to the other dogs?

If not, does anyone know of any Boxer specific parks or play groups in the Phoenix area?

I have a little of pups and they need to be dewormed now, they are 5 wks. How do I make sure I give them only the amount they need and not too much? I don't want to make them sick. their bellies are really bloated and I know it's because of worms, all pups get them. As long as they are this bloated they don't want to eat properly. What do I do?

I have taped the fridge at the top and bottom...this worked for awhile but it seems now he has learned that if he pulls hard enough, this breaks the tape.
I know everyone laughs ...(ha, ha).. but this is getting expensive.. he eats all the left overs and the fridge is open all day (anything he doesn't eat, gets spoiled). I don't want to have to tie him anywhere or lock him up (he's our guard dog). Does anyone have any idea's?

I know people say that it's best not to run when a dog is chasing you. However, I was chased by a dog yesterday & my instincts told me to run. Thankfully, I was able to get away. Would it have been better for me to stand still?? curl up on the ground?? jump on a car?? etc...

I hope I never experience anything as frightening as this again. However, I would like to know the best strategies to use when being chased by a dog....just in case....

An Irresponsible Dog Owner was the cause of me falling face down in a pile of mud while trying to prevent my dogs from attacking his unleashed dog. His dog ran up to me and my dogs attacked. When the Irresponsible Dog Owner tried to assist me, my dogs tried to attack him.

I think my dogs were being protective. Protecting me from a unleashed dog and a total stranger. My dad think my dogs are a lawsuit waiting to happen. I disagree. What do you think?

What are some dog kennel name suggestions? I am not a backyard breeder or a puppymill. I would only breed a litter to improve the breed. Im going to join dog clubs, and attend dog shows! Im not planning on doing this for money, Im planning on doing it as a hobby for the love of the breed!

He started barking from about 7 months. Initial advice was he was attention seeking. Some of it may be, but also seems like unusual noises or if he sees a dog, cat, birds through our home window. Plus passing people, dogs etc in the car.

I live in San Luis Obispo County. I know this is really happening, because I saw the PetData website address on the last dog license that Irenewed. Please read the following message. It will affect all of us. PetData prepares a monthly report of animals licensed detailed byspecies, sterilization status, cost and vendor. We can also furnish additional statistical reports as requested. Depending on the
information requested, PetData can provide most reports in two to fivebusiness days.
Outsourcing Pet Owner Privacy for Profit
Lloyd Levine's mandatory castration proposal could lead to record corporate proprofits -- pet owners are in the crosshairs Has your personal information been databanked ? Read it and weep, California pet owners. Last week we did a little speculating on enforcement strategies for Lloyd Levine's radical proposal to surgically sterilize every single pet dog and cat in the entire state of California. But that was then, and this is now.
