First of all, dogs are not people. They don't do things out of revenge or because they're angry. If he's using the house as a bathroom, it's because he's not reliably house trained.
How old is he? Submissive peeing is something that's not uncommon in puppies and most of them grow out of it. You need to crouch down when you approach him so you're more at his level, don't make eye contact with a submissive dog. Never punish him for it because this isn't something he can help.
You could try a little obedience work with him - don't need to go to classes if you don't want to, just at home. Use positive reinforcement, patience and calm. Dogs gain confidence from succeeding at something and that will help him.
If this is an adult, you can talk to your vet. There are medications available to help, which are to be combined with behavioural training.

He doesn't poop in the house because he's angry. He poops because he needs to poop. He's not spiteful, he's not stubborn, he's doing what dogs do. Often separation anxiety is associated with pooping in the house, and this can often be remedied by crate training the dog so he has a secure place when you are not home.
Small dogs often have to be treated like puppies throughout their lives- taken outside very frequently, and never left to wander alone in the house. Your little dog will probably do better in a small room or crate when you are gone during the day.

We have 4 mini dachshund, they are all beautiful however notoriously hard to house break. They are a very intelligent breed, but seem to not care about messing in the house. one of our dogs in particular, she definately knows to go outside, but if its raining or cold, the house will do just fine!!
As for him being insecure, that is not typical of daxis, they are usually fiercely independant and happy to let everyone know. Maybe you just need to encourage him, tell him he is a good dog in a soothing voice when he just laying around, or quietly moseying about the place, after all this behaviour should be encouraged anyway. Above all give him lots of love.

How old is he? Neutered? We need more details to help!
Some thing to do -- take him to a class either obedience or agility, dachsies can do both and the classes often help "insecure" dogs become more confident. It sounds like you need some adivce from someone who can actually see and get to know your dog.
Use positive methods, but not totally positive methods so that you can correct him for bad behviors and he will bounce back. Dachsies are bright little souls with a independent streak and are easily spoiled, and can be domineering if allowed to get away with things!
Good luck!

Group dog classes for beginning socialization. You want a place that emphasizes building confidence in the pup and you. Check around.
If he is under 10 months, puppy class would be good.
Also, if you have someone you trust, have them take your dog for the day.
Doggy Daycare for a half a day after you have been in classes for a session is also a good thing. Make sure it is a well staffed situation where the dogs are monitored at all times by professionals.
Good luck.

Hello..for one thing your dachsie is surrounded by giant people, that's who he see's things & they will train you better then you can train him, IF you let him...he also needs crate or space training & to be on a feeding/ water schedule, crates are not cruel, they are a dog house in a house...dogs are den creatures, they don't mind small spaces, it's security to them ...any way, I have more detailed details on crate/space training on my 360 ..if you wish to look ...dachsies are great, but stubborn ..LOL !!! If you rush him when he's having an accident, you are scaring the hell, or poop, out of this dog as well !!! Take Care :)

Have you tried punishing him with the old fashioned rolled up paper? It sounds more like hes a bi=polar dog. Quite seriously. My puppy was like that and it takes a lot of patience
